B's fan here who saw P. Kalus play 3 live AHL games last year and I also caught a few on tv. The kid has a knack for some big goals, he loves to throw his weight around and he isnt afraid to drop the mitts. Not sure what else you could ask for out of a 20 year old. I was really surprised to see him drop the mitts the first timme last year- he can throw 'em too. Only drawback could be injury problems, but thhats too early to tell, imo. Enjoy, I miss the kid already !
It's kind of hard to say right now, as he missed 6 weeks last season with a knee injury, and a week or two later on with a wrist injury, but I know he put up some great numbers when he played for Regina of the WHL. He's certainly not afraid to crash the net, and is very strong. Hits like a freight train, and won't hesitate to drop the gloves if the situation calls for it. I think you guys will really enjoy watching him play. I know I sure did all of last season.
It's certainly an unusual combination of traits for one player, the smooth skating and hands of a Euro-sniper coupled with the roughneck style of western Canada. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the Wild at some point.
