So much unresolved issues still it's hard to say (Nieds, Penner, Ryan, Bryz, Marchant). But my prediction is we start the season with:

Kunitz-Andymac-Bertuzzi
May-Getzlaf-Perry
Moen-Pahlsson-Nieds
Parros-Marchant-Belak

Pronger-O'Donnell
Schneider-Beauchemin
Hnidy-Huskins

Giguere
Bryzgalov

Belak? oh my...

I would say that final roster spot will come down to whoever emerges between Miller and Carter in training camp, with the possibility that they both make it and rotate a bit with Parros. Either way, I think Miller has the edge at this point.
That's assuming Ryan doesn't make the squad and no other forward prospects show they are ready.

If Penner goes, Selanne doesn't return and no one else can fill that 2nd line LW position, that pretty much cancels out the hope of a (somewhat) stable fourth line anchored by Marchant and May.

It is impossible to say right now, because we have so many question marks on who will be on the team. But here's my guesses

With Nieds, Selanne and Penner:

Bertuzzi-McDonald-Selanne
Penner-Getzlaf-Perry
Moen-Pahlsson-R.Niedermayer
Kunitz-Carter-May
exarros, King, Lacoutiere(sp)

S.Niedermayer-Beauchemin
Pronger-Schneider
Huskins-O'Donnell

Jiggy
Cheap Fa backup

(If Penner, Selanne, and Scotty are all back next year Marchant and Bryz are definitely gone.)

With out Penner, Selanne, and S.Niedermayer:

Bertuzzi-Getzlaf-Perry
Kunitz-McDonald-Ryan
Moen-Pahlsson-R.Niedermayer
May-Marchant-Carter
exarros, King, Lacoultiere(sp)

Pronger-O'Donnell
Schneider-Beauchemin
Huskins-Hindy/Drats

Jiggy
Bryzgalov

(Bryzgalov will probably be traded either way, and I expect that the Ducks would pick up another player if we don't have any of Penner, Selanne, S.Niedermayer next year.)

Neither of these line combos will probably be right, because it is impossible to make a prediction when their are so many question marks surrounding the team.

Edit: Sorry forgot about Brad May

We NEED to get Teemu back or replace him with someone GOOD. Looking at the stats from last season. He totaly dominated the entire team with his goal and point output.

WOW that is a scary lineup! As a Sharks fan, I hope Neids and Selanne walk and Edmonton get Penner, but as a hockey fan, I hope you guys keep em all, cause this is one killer lineup!

That lineup will never happen. That's about 57 million in cap room. But I guess one can dream. The best case scenario is the first lineup I posted in my first post on this thread.

Still though, there is no way to predict the lines right now. Their are to many question marks surrounding the team.

If Selanne comes back I dont think that Bert will make the first line. He's not as quick as Teemu and Andy. Kunitz might keep the spot.

If Scott comes back...our defense is rediculous. Probably the best in history.

Imagine if Pronger and Niedermayer were paired together

If Niedermayer comes back, we would have the depth to summon the two-headed blueline monster

lets face it as it is
if scotty and teemu are back we will have one of the best teams in history
defense will be brutal, offense as well (bertuzzi can play 70+games)

oh man another thing why they(scotty, teemu) should continue

This is my optimal setup for next season. I would like to keep Marchant but it wouldn't be the end of the world. I hope they let Penner walk, find Bryz a starting gig as he deserves it and Teemu and Scotty come back. We're top 3 in the West with this lineup AINEC.

California professional hockey history, perhaps.

Steep competition there from Rob Blake, Alexei Zhitnik, Darryl Sydor, and Brent Thompson though...
