#60 for Team Canada

Theo won this game against Atlanta by the way he played the game in Atlanta and in the first 10 minutes of this one. Kovalchuk was on a mission to score on Theo and was repeatedly denied. Kovalchuk abandoned any semblance of a team concept and appeared visibly frustrated by his inability to finish. IMO as of this moment Jose is the front runner to be the gate opener for Canada at the World Cup. Barring a Conn Smythe playoff performance. no one is going to unseat Brodeur, so this is as good as it's going to get for Theo this time around.

I'd still trade him for Hejduk and Morris

In a heartbeat! :p

But I like Theo, too. I'd feel sick after dealing him to any other team though. While elite goalies are nice, a 50-goal-scorer and a third top-two defenceman would be nicer. Not saying trade Theo, though. Great game, all star worthy for sure; we should be well represented at the '04 World Cup too.

Canada : Theodore, Souray?
Finland : Koivu
Slovakia : Zednik
Czech : Bulis?
Russia : Markov
Sweden : Sundstrom
Belarus : You know who.

Theodore's gonna have a real challenge from Roberto Luongo for that job.

I wouldn't trade Theo for Hedjuk and Morris.
As nice as a 50 goals scorer and a top D are, a top goalie is more important.

Just look at the Canucks last year in the series for proof.

Luongo's great but I see Belfour as the guy to beat out for the number 2 spot behind Brodeur for two reasons. 1. He was a great team guy in Salt Lake and 2. He plays for Toronto.
