That was an amazing game by Leon Powe. I think the team got a little ahead of themselves in the fourth, you could see them clowing around and the Lakers never really turned it off. I think that was a good lesson to learn (and one they really already should have known, but still), and they were lucky to escape it unscathed.

I have said all along that if the Celts win the first two games, and steal one in LA, they are winning the title.

little scary at the end but clutch free throws from pierce and powe at the end sealed the deal. I am excited to watch tomorrow night, they just need to play their defense (rebounds!) tighten up on their passes and dribbling up court and continue to be great offensively and they will do fine in LA. Deff. think they will come back for fathers day at home to win it...Did anyone notice that Phil Jackson's chair was a good 3-4 inches higher and right in the middle of the bench? He doesnt hold a candle to Red Auerbach(imo). GO CELTICS!!

I guess that Jackson is going easy on Harper because he retired after the 1998-99 season. OK OK - I know that you actually meant Derek Fisher I'm just having some fun here.

WOW....thank you for calling me out on that one because I feel pretty stupid!

It's funny because one of my friends in Dallas works at a TV station where Derek Harper is now one of the sportcasters.

I might need to see a doctor because I've been calling Brandon Moss of the Red Sox "Damian Moss" for a while and I keep calling Sean Avery "Steve Avery". Early on-set Tim McCarver Disease?

As bad as the NHL playoffs officiating was, this could be worse.

the NBA playoffs have been way worse than the NHL

The screw job is def. in tonight, after the Celtics shot so many free throws in Game 2 - everyone in America saw this coming and it will be a hot topic tomorrow. Somehow the C's are right in this game though and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see them play a great 2nd half.

I'm just shocked that Jack Nicholson is not one of the officials tonight.

Good to see Eddie House out there because I trust him a lot more than Cassell at this point. I loved Sam....but it's not 1995 anymore.

Would be nice to have anouncers that didn't want to be Kobe's "special" friends. We could be up by 20 and all they would talk about is Kobe hitting a free throw.

We just tied the game and announcers had no clue it was close.

If any other Lakers could shoot in this game we'd have been down huge early on. They had every chance to take a big lead and didn't hit shots or free throws.

Garnett needs to take the ball in the paint and drive to the rim......that will suck defenders in and allow Ray Allen and Pierce to put this game away

If Garnett sits just barely inside the 3 point line - we become much easier to defend

Pierce with his 5th foul, sitting for a good long while again - even if he has been struggling, tough to see him on the bench

refs had a hand in the Lakers win tonight. Neither team played spectacular and for the love of mikey, shut up about Kobe Bryant, he's not as god-like as everyone thinks.

Celts with a terrible game, but still were in it through the final minutes. I'm not gonna play the 'ref' card like the Lakers fans did after game 2, but I'll just say, I think we are even at this point.

Haha, just discovered your Celtic's thread. I'm a longtime fan. Everyone who is worried, don't be, we played terrible, KG, The Truth all were bad. There is nowhere to go but up from this. We still went toe to toe with the lakers till the end. I'm actually more confident after this loss.

The thing that disappoints me is that the Celtics had a legit chance to steal this game, on the road, despite the officiating. They let a golden opportunity slip through their hands. Holding the Lakers to 87 points, and losing is a shame.

At the same time, the Celtics played an awful game, while Kobe had his best of the series, and the Celtics were right there with them until the end. The defense was still there, if they can settle down and find a rhythm on offense, they should be in good shape. They also settled for far too many jump shots. No reason why the Celtics (particularly Kevin Garnett) shouldn't take the ball and drive it to the rim each possession.

I came out of that game pretty confident. As bad as we were, and as much as they got the majority of the calls, we still had a good chance to win that game coming down the stretch.
I didn't see anything last night that showed me the Celtics can't win a game in LA, and if they do that I think the series is over.

On the talk sports basketball board, there are some complaints that they still didn't get enough calls by Laker fans. I just have to stop going over there.

same here.

i've felt this way, and read it on espn i believe.... all the C's need is for KG, allen, and PP to have one DECENT game together in L.A. and the C's are in very good shape.

coming home up 3-2 sets up quite well.

lastly, i'll say i hate the 2-3-2 format. it minimizes home court advantage significantly.

Go C's!!!

There's no way Pierce and KG shoot as badly as they did last game. It's time for a reality check Kobe.....

If Pierce and KG shot anywhere near what they should be doing we should win today, heck we should have won tuesday.
