How true....I was public skating with my daughter last January and I said how many of these things do you think will happen

1) The Patriots will win the SB in a week
2) Ellsbury and/or Lester will not be traded for Santana (we didn't want it)
3) Patrice Bergeron will return healthy and be the player he was before the hit
4) the Celtics will win the NBA title

she said 3 out 4....I hope she is right

i'll probably never get over that SB but if they can come back next year and win, it may feel just as good in light of spygate BS
Al, happy Birthday, I'll see you soon I'm sure and we'll have a beer

Congrats Celtics, I've hated the Lakers ever since Shaq left and let me tell you how good it felt sitting at the bar and looking at all the sad Laker fans slump in their chairs. Thank you again.

Yeah. It didn't matter that they rolled thru the West during the season. But whatever. Hope they lost a lot of money, bunch of non-believers! And yes, I'm thankful that PP was here to make this happen. Remember the days when Twoin (pfft pfft) was hoisting up ******** 3's and many of us were wishing Paul would NOT learn anything from him. He's gotten to be a better and better all-around player, and hope he and this crew has another 3-4 championships in them!

Now lets see that Denali commercial guy talk to Garnett. [Would be fitting since one of the spots has the "they said you were the underdogs. What you were was under suspicion of winning it all..."
(or something like that)]

My dad just called me and hes just absolutely loving it. Hes had a tough year and he really deserved this. I know that my sound stupid to say, because who is he... but still I wanted this for him so bad, and I'm so thrilled he got to experience it. Great year to get season tickets....

I love it... I was telling my dad I thought Rondo was the straw that stirred the drink tonight... and he was like really?? I guess maybe at the game you didn't realize how great he was but he was phenominal. In fact Phil Jackson just said Rondo was the star tonight... he made things happen, he pushed the ball, he was aggressive, he reaked havoc defensively etc... thats great to hear from a Hall of fame coach. Future is bright for this young point guard as he gains confidence and works on his shot.

Allen and Garnett were terrific... but Rondo is the unsung hero tonight for me.

Very, very, very excited for the Celts! Pierce has been a great Celtic, and KG and Allen? What more could we have asked for? Great season.

A quicky background to celebrate! Woohoo!

I'm really happy for Paul Pierce....usually in the NBA a guy complains and moans and demands a trade (like the guy wearing #24 in purple) but PP stayed with the program and got his reward.

And for Doc Rivers too... he just comes across as such a nice man but he proved in this series that he's a really good coach. If people are going to worship the Zen Master because he has 9 titles, then Doc needs to get his due because he out-coached Jackson in every way.

You said it would be a five game series initially...you only changed your prediction after I said "No way".

Way to back out of manning up to how absolutely wrong you were in your prediction.

Congrats Celtics! I'm so happy for Pierce after all the ups and downs he's suffered with this team. How they went from one of the worst teams last year to the champions is just unreal. It was great to see Rondo develop all year and the integral roles guys like Posey and House played. Very likeable team as well.

Tremendous celebration after the game. They used to just run off the floor -- sometimes fighting the crowd -- as fast as they could in the old days. But this is how you do it! KG and Bill Russell embrace, the Lakers come over to congratulate, Paul Pierce -- thought he was going to collapse at the presser -- the whole thing was beyond belief. From Wyc green-lighting Ainge on so big a gamble to Ainge keeping Doc Rivers instead of going in a different direction, just great, the whole thing.
My personal turning point for the whole playoff run was when they stopped wearing those awful modern roadies and went with the traditional uniform. I think it connected everyone to what it means to play for the Celtics and brought out more resilient performances. Celtic pride comes in one color.

what a series, welcome back celtics, i was impressed with the whole team last night. When Paul Pierce said at halftime that they wanted it badly and werent going to stop, i had doubt, but they proved me wrong. It was a hell of a time for garnett to start posting up gasol and putting it in, and i was really surprised that rondo came through in a world title clinching game. and i had no doubt that pierce would come through.

and ray allen too, i didnt know what he was going to be like with the situation with his son, i hope everything works out there

Congrats Celtics! Especially Ray Allen! He played great and was the best two-guard in the finals! Who would have thought that before the series?
