I even can't wait ... and to make it more of a Lions Thread - for the beginning of the season!

Since my company doubled the workforce during summer (heck I didn't even know the name of anyone anymore: Stefani, Susan, Sandra etc ?!??? everyones name seems to start with an S) I invited three of the new guys (yes even guys have been employed) to the opening night!!!
Try to get them involved ...all good sports guys.
One is a good friend of the son of Duisburgs head coach Didi Hegen and has never been to a Lions game before just watched him playing for his .. I dunno - junior beer league team in Darmstadt before where he is from

But everyone is excited about ... bring it on!

Three more hockey fans in the making

Alright, as this thread isn't called "Frankfurt Lions thread" I feel free to post something else:

Eisbären Berlin - Four Points Cup Champions!!!

They played against HC Energie Karlovy Vary (Czech team), Nürnberg IceTigers (DEL) and Dresdner Eislöwen (Oberliga).
Everyone played everyone.

Against whom did the Lions play? How was the tournament mode?

Damn. Hamburg just lost Christoph Brandner for a few weeks. With Fortier already out of the lineup, that leaves Hamburg without the two scoring line leftwingers.

This weakens the team tremendously and takes away the biggest strength.

Not a good start to the season for Hamburg, down 6-3 in the 3rd and being outshot 40-17 by Cologne.

BTW, the DEL liveticker is better than last season's.

Well spotted; I hadn't made the connection... Looking at Belfour's mask I am pretty sure it is indeed the exact same Eagle. Hauser has modified the overall design a little bit though; on his chin are a blended A and H. The mask nicely matches the team's name though

Wow, Nürnberg beats Iserlohn 10-9, that's the most goals scored in a DEL-match.

Nürnberg was led by Spylo (5 points), Savage and Leeb (4 points each). Iserlohn by Hock (7), Wren (6) and Wolf (5).

Both teams changed goalies, Iserlohn had 17 powerplays.

If I hadn'd seen it, I could hardly believe it:
Adler Mannheim vs. Eisbären Berlin 3:6
Nathan Robinson with his first DEL-goal for Berlin, and Rob Zepp with his first win in his first DEL-game

If you want, you can look at the stats of the IEC-SIT game here.
19 goals in a DEL-game is unreal...

Rumor has it that the Kölner Haie are close with signing John Slaney of the Philadelphia Phantoms.

What?!? What kind of s|-|it is this considering we live in the world wide web era ... they are so lousy its unbelievable.

But whats the reason? Does american credit card money doesn't smell that good than german or austrian?!? or any techincal probs? what of what kind they should be when you look at the fact that you can even get a live stream of a fu$$%~ing Lacrosse game if you want.

Nice start by the Lions ... but what kind of a different style of hockey than we've seen the last five years. System-hockey to death ... based heavily on tactics and system. No more individual support opening the game. Long passes out of the zone, than working the puck in. Kind of hard to get used to to be honest..

Reminds me a bit of the 96 Panthers that went to the Stan ..oooops ..
