A few things. Nice hit by Poapst (sp?) on Dvo. I wish someone else beside Gator on our team could do that. And how did that second goal get in through Salo? He was square to the shooter, and had his paddle on the ice covering his five hole. I could also see that as the puck was coming on that goal he let up a bit on the heel of his stick, which probably caused the puck to slide under. Shoulda been a routine save.

Well since I've posted my glee for the butt-chewing MacT gave the bench.........I haven't got the result I had hoped for. I was hoping it would wake them up more than let them worry about a bag skate tomorrow.

I know Salo has looked suspect. I don't know the protocol for how many games in a row the a goalie has to go.........before a bad goal doesn't warrant everyone jumping all over him.

Was pulling Salo the solution.....or trying to wake up this team?

How many scoring chances on this hackey Hawk defense did the Oilers get that period?

The key imo is this period coming up. If they have ANY PRIDE, they'll come out loaded for bear. I mean, if they're going to lose at least make the other team pay a price.

Well... apparently the magic number of games isn't 4.

Let's hope but when was the last time the Oilers showed that kind of emotion. At times like these this year, the Oilers have quit more often than they've come out loaded and ornery. I think the last time I saw it was the Dallas loss in the playoffs last season.

The second period has not been a friend to the Oilers this year. In the last broadcast for the Oil, they showed the statistics of the Oilers in the second period. I think we were outscored by 15 goals or so...

We'll see.

I keep telling myself, "think of the great draft pick we're going to get." For some reason, it doesn't make me feel any better.

A nice goal, well done, but jeez Ryan, that looked bad. I know he wasn't trying to do that, he was going for the stick, but wow.

It's up to Salo to stay cool and steal this game for us now.

edit: Salo just made two terrific saves on Zhamnov. He's on his game.

Tough save for Salo on that shot.. it was a really lucky bounce of an Oiler foot and Dempsey ended up with it right in the slot. I hope the boys come out fired up next period and try and get back the lead.. the Oates/Smyth/Izzy line has looked fantastic all game long!

That's what I'm asking about!

That's what I'm asking about!

That's what I'm asking about!

It was me.......I asked the other day.

Raffi Torres gets the edge in a spirited scrap, right after the Oilers get scored on.

I like that.

See him changing up on the rights?

Pretty cool.

I really wish the NHL kept a 'Point shot goals allowed' stat.

At least we'd have a league leader in one statistical category.

Hopefully they can win this one in spite of the fact that they may have to keep Chicago to under 4 shots in the third to do it.

Really liked what I saw from Torres after that goal.

You missed a great 2nd period Hawkalyzer! The only problem I find is that it is dark and it's hard to see. Maybe its just me.

Also when they talked to Steve Smith I was glad they did not mention 1986, although you could tell it was what they were likely thinking about. I tried not to think about it, but the more I tried not to the more it ran through my head. *sigh*

Looking forward to a great 3rd.
