Worst Moment as a Flyers fan?

Probably witnessing the 9-1 Buffalo game this year.

All-time? -- some of these are multiple events tied into one thought.

Here is a temporary list, I may have missed something:

1. Pelle Lindbergh's death.

2. The 1980 Cup Finals, the OT PP GWG in Game 1 -- an NHL first, the more than likely high stick goal in Game 6, the horrendous lack of proper judgment by Leon Stickle.

3. The 2000 playoffs collapse and the subsequent and related on and off-the-ice machinations.

4. Bernie Parent's career ending eye-injury at MSG in 1979 and then getting manhandled by the Rangers in the 1979 playoffs 26-5 in the last four games.

5. 1997 Cup Finals. That seemed to be the year.

6. The Propp and Poulin trades to Boston and the eventual Bob Clarke vs. Jay Snider schism.

7. Blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Caps in 1988 and the eventual canning of Mike Keenan signalling the end to a too close but no cigar run from 1984-1988.

8. The negativity associated with what became the Eric Lindros soap opera.

9. 1999: the deaths of Dmitri Tertyshny, Gene Hart and Bill Flett all within a few days of each other.

10. Posting a 1-9 PO record in three years under Bob McCammon (when there were 3-out-of-5 series).

11. The 2002 playoff debacle to Patrick Lalime and Ottawa.

12. Seeing Brian Propp's head in a pool of blood.

When you watched your fellow flyer fan get pummeled by Domi in the penalty box.................and could only helplessly watch.

Half jokingly, there was the time this past weekend when some tool tried to tell me that Lindros, pre-injuries, sucked and was nothing but a dirty cheap-shot artist. Of course, this is the same person who told me that you use Goals Against Average to measure how good a goalie is, and that despite everything I've read, save percentage is a BS stat. He also said that any GMs/scouts/writers who use that save only do so because they have no idea how to rate goalies, and he obviously does since he played goalie on the club hockey team at UNH. This is also without getting into the discussion about football we had, which had my blood pressure well over the safe limit, I'm sure.

Other than that, the Stevens hit on Lindros in the playoffs is up there, along with Game 4 of the Stanley Cup series against Detroit. I have hated the Red Wings ever since.

Losing to buffalo in the opening round of a potentially successful run. Forget the year.
The last game that put us out was an 8-0 loss.

Last season is right up there. It looked promising. Some analyists were picking us to come out of the east. We finish dead last.

2000 ECF--no doubt.

Last season was horrendous, but rather than a "moment" it was really just a lot of really, really, really, bad "moments" strung together.

1. Pelle dying

2. Terts and Gene Hart dying

3. coming oh so close to beating that Oiler jaugernaut in 87

4. Leon Sticke

5. 2000 ECF. before game 5 they announce Lindros is coming back in the next game, Flyers come out flat, Lindros returns and ruins that chemistry that team had withut him.

6. 2004 ECF maybe we didnt deserve to be there, is it possible to be dissapointed and proud of your team at the same time?

7. the nightmare that was the 06-07 season.

ECF game 7 vs. Lightning, I thought we had it.

8-0 loss against the Sabres in the playoffs, forget the year but i do remember Boucher and Cechmanek were the goalies

9-1 vs. Buffalo this season

This season as a whole

2001 when the Devils became Cup Champions after they killed us, DAMN I HATE THE DEVILS.

Pelle's death and it's not even close for me. The only other thing I can remember was hearing about Tim Kerr's wife passing and being pretty sad about that too.

It isn't that big of a deal, but I just wanted to post something no one else had. Todd Bergen quitting to go play golf. I wasn't alive at that point, but my dad suggested it.

Driving all the way to Buffalo to witness the 8-2 thrashing in the 2nd game of the '06 playoffs, then having to put up with the jeers of all the Buffalo fans. But really, the last laugh is on them because they live in Buffalo.

Game 7 of the 1987 finals. I remember that jerk Glenn Anderson getting that late goal and I remember shouting how much I wanted to kill him. I still hate him.
