Sanguinetti Injured

Quote:
To make matters worse, it appeared that Sanguinetti injured his leg after crashing into the net in a failed attempt to break up the play. He was favoring it greatly as he skated gingerly off the ice. He did not return to the game.

Anyone have any word of his status??

It probably wasn't that serious as he was one of the players that swapped teams today: http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Us...HockeyType=ICE

Hopefully with him being traded, it isn't that bad.

My cousin the agent is headed up there today. I'll ask him to keep an eye on Saguinetti if he can.

Here's an update taken from Shawn Roarke's blog at NHL.com (he appears good to go):

Sanguinetti injury update
8-10-2007 14:43:23

Bobby Sanguinetti suffered a knee injury in Wednesday’s game and, at the time, it appeared it could be serious. He spent a long period of time after the game Wednesday being examined by TEAM USA medical personnel while laying on a table outside the dressing room, his knee wrapped heavily in ice.

Fortunately, though, those activities were a mere precaution.

Sanguinetti took part in the Friday morning pre-game skate and he said after the skate that he is ready to play in Friday night’s late game. He is playing in the late game, for Team Blue, because he was part of the 14-player trade the two teams pulled off during the off day.

Sanguinetti took the deal in stride.

“I haven’t been traded too many times, if ever,” he said, adding a chuckle. “So, this is the toughest on so far.”

I really, really hate to be a buzzkill, but players themselves are never honest about their injuries. He might be fine, but he might have a nagging pain... you can't tell from a quote from the player.

well, as long as it's not so severe as to prevent him from playing he should be ok. he's still a couple years off from the big club, so i'm not too worried.

According to Jess Rubinstein over at Blueshirt Bulletin (see comments from yesterday's post: http://ordinaryleastsquare.typepad.c....html#comments) Sanguinetti not only played last night, but scored the game winning goal on the powerplay.

Im really hoping Sanguinetti turns out to be a PP demon with the big club in coming years. A good american kid that is the 2nd coming of BL#2!!!! i dont mean to go over the top the kid could be a steal for us @ #21 in his draft. Fingers crossed.
