Hurt groin

Hurt groin

Pulled the groin a little in last nights game not to bad, but it is sore. What should I do to help heal quickly. Should I be stretching or just let it rest,.

I try to stretch my groin out every night!


Seriously, mix of heat and ice packs should help. I would take it easy if i were you. Just walking works those muscles, I don't see the need to stretch them out.

If you can take a few days off, idk if you work full time or anything but Ice/Heat and rest is probably the best advice I could give.

Hopefully it is not serious.... because groin injuries tend to linger for a long time. Then you think you are back to normal and you stretch to receive a pass.... bang... there it is again....

how could i "heat" my groin? I seem to pull my groin everytime i play hockey. I stretch to the best of my ability too. I guess im terrible at stretching.

Get a heat pad. Any drug store should have them. I would not use icy hot near your groin though, unless your a glutton for pain.

If you pull your groin EVERY time you play hockey, something is definitely wrong.

See a doctor and learn to stretch... in that order.

First of all, do not heat!!! Especially it the first 48-72 hrs. ice is the way to go.Ice as often as possible (with breaks in between).Do not stretch for a couple of days and when you begin stretching , go easy.Start stregnthening with isometric exercises like squeezing and releasing a basketball between your knees (knees bent and legs extended also.) I suggest seeing a physio for deep massage and more advanced exercises.This injury can bug you for a long time if you don't take care of it properly.
