Bonnar would be a good fight but like you said he is most likely unavailable.
Bonnar has done nothing in his career to earn that fight though. While I agree that Silva deserves a warm-up fight, it shouldn't be with Bonnar.

You could say the exact same thing about Jardine. He just got KO'd by Houston Alexander and now he's fighting Liddell with the possibility of a title shot if he wins.

I thought they said Shogun/Griffin gets next shot?

Jardine gets a shot over Shogun/Griffin winner, I would be pretty miffed.

All these tasty fights.. Houston Alexander is an interesting option for Wandy.

Yeah, but everyone and their mom knows that Jardine got robbed by the judges when he fought Bonnar.

I've got the mindset that you are never robbed by judges. If you don't finish the fight and put it in their hands, you deserve whatever decision they give you........ but that was one fight where even I thought it was crap and Jardine clearly won.

I cannot say I remember that fight so my opinion on it is pretty moot. Jardine and bonnar, for what ever reason draw no MMA passion from me. I guess I just do not see them being either exciting enough or talented enough to make a difference.
Perhaps spoiled from some of the 205 fights we have seen in the past.

Here is a question for everyone..

Which fight sticks out in your mind as the most poorly judged fight in MMA?

Isn't Serra idle until his Hughes fight at the end of the TUF season?

George going for the title in Montreal.....that would be awesome and i'd be there for sure. Feb seems like it would be too soon for Serra/Hughes (they fight in Dec. I think), but who cares, both of them are getting enough rest right now waiting til the end of TUF.

Hopefully Serra wins so GSP can get his rematch.

Hopefully Serra Hughes is a quick bout with limited recovery time so that the Feb suggested card could happen..

Hopefully GSP beats Koscheck, God I hope he does, but I would not be surprised if he lost.

Big Nog/Ricco Rodriguez sticks out. I thought Diaz/Riggs and Penn/GSP should have gone the other way since one or two takedowns decided them, rather than real action, but I can understand how reasonable judges could have come to such decisions, so they weren't outrageous like the other two.

Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (rooting for Randy)
Roger Huerta vs. Alberto Crane
Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck (great matchup)
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Joe Stevenson (fight of the night possibility)
Patrick Cote vs. Kendall Grove
Ryan Jensen vs. Thales Leites
Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. David Heath
Marcus Aurelio vs. Clay Guida
Frank Mir vs. Antoni Hardonk (still holding slim hope that Mir regains some form)

I really hope the Clay fight makes the air, I love watching that guy.

I seem to recall a UFC fight that happened recently, where one judge had scored the fight 30-27 for one fighter, while another judge scored it 30-27 for the other. I found that pretty ridiculous.

Am I the only one that is not only cheering for Couture, but is actually picking him to win? I'm not denying that Gonzaga is a superb fighter, but in my mind he faced a lacsadaisical Filipovic, and won with a fairly lucky kick. Further, Gonzaga hasn't proven himself against any other world class heavyweight fighters. He won't have the advantage of being under-estimated for this fight either - the whole world took notice of his last win. Couture will take his preparation very seriously.

I'm really on the fence on this fight. Gonzaga has the skill and physical attributes to be a top HW for a long and looked great against CC but like you said CC wasn't himself that night. You're damn right Couture will take his training serious and he's been getting excellent help from Wanderlei and Tompkins. Randy standup looked better then it ever has against Sylvia and I think he really worked on it after being KO'd 2x by Liddell. I've underestimated Randy before and was burnt and he is my favorite fighter so I'm going to change my pick to Randy Couture. Never count out The Natural.
