Pens in 6.

Buffalo is still a good club with a lot of depth and an excellent goalie, but I think the loss of their core and a questionable blue line won't be able to stand up to the Penguins, but they will put up a good fight.

Buffalo, Pens have to prove me wrong, I think they will but until they win a playoff series I'll vote for the team against them.

Pens

Crosby/Malkin > Connolly/Roy

Other than that it's pretty even, I'd expect no less than 6 games

I take Pittsburgh here. Buffalo is still a good team but I think it will take them a year to fully recover from their losses.

I'd say the Pens took a good lesson with them after the beating that Ottawa handed them... 1 year later, and a Buffalo team with less of that scoring depth means IMO the Pens take this one.

I won't argue against picking Pittsburgh to win, but where's that coming from? Pittsburgh's defense is a lot more questionable than Buffalo's, who has a really good top 3 of Campbell, Tallinder, and Lydman, followed by some inconsistent guys and Numminen. If Pittsburgh wins, it's because of their top 6, not because of a superior defense.

And there wouldn't be a lot of defense in this series, anyway.

I can appreciate the idea of these polls, but at the same time it's kind of pointless, simply because we already know that the majority will vote for whoever the higher seed is. That's a guarantee, since those same people voted for those seeds in the first place.

I think Sydor and Letang help somewhat on the defense.
I'd choose Pittsburgh.

Carolina would get run over by New Jersey according to fans on here. Apparently, people never saw the 2006 series

Buffalo for the same reasons Ottawa beat Buffalo in the ECFs last year.

They simply have a better core of defense in both ends.

Add to that better goaltending at this point and time and where it would be very close I think Buffalo outmatches them in the two most important categories.

Offensively Pittsburgh is very good but they still aren't a very good defensive team which will leave them suspect to the offense Buffalo still has remaining.

Sabres in 7
