Most Dominant Family in the NHL?

From the choices given, select who you feel has been (or will be) the best family in the league.

Stastny - Brothers Peter, Anton and Marian, as well as Peter's two sons, Paul and Yan.

Hull - Father Bobby and son Brett

Sutter - Brothers Brian, Darryl, Duane, Brent, Rich and Ron

Howe - Gordie and his two sons, Mark and Marty

Staal - Brothers Eric, Jordan, Marc and possibly Jared

I hope I haven't missed anyone obvious. I made a conscious decision not to include the Bure brothers, and I don't want to hear how Wayne and Brent Gretzky hold the record for highest-scoring brother tandem.

I voted Hull's but would have voted Conachers if they had been a choice. 3 Hofer's & 2 AR winners. Bentley's, Patrick's & Hextall's are also eligible choices.

The Richard brothers, not the Gretzkys, hold the record for most goals by brothers, if I haven't overlooked anyone else. Maurice the Rocket had 544 and Henri the Pocket Rocket had 358 for a total of 1002, exceeding the 895 of Wayne and Brent.

I said scoring, not goals. But, yeah, at least with the Richard brothers both contributed.

And I wish I hadn't overlooked Dennis Hull. As for the Conachers, excluding them was exactly the sort of omission I was afraid of.

FYI 544 + 358 = 902 only 7 more than the Gretzkys

Not only cannot I not add but I picked the Richards for numero uno among brothers. But Bobby and Dennis Hull scored 913 NHL goals, Bobby had 610 and Dennis 303. Anyone else?

Just for curiosity's sake the Mahovlich brothers tallied 821, Frank getting 533 and Peter 288. Pretty decent figures.

Considering they had twice as many family members in the NHL as the second most dominant family, and now Darryl and Brent both have sons coming up, plus all that Darryl, Duane and Brent have done coaching, this is a stupid poll.

A couple of other families came close in numbers. There were 5 Conachers over 2 generations & 5 Patricks over 3 generations.

How the hell that Staal has more vote than Stastny ?

Peter, Anton and Marian + Paul who is also great, Yan is a good checker.

Imo its

Sutter
Stastny
Howe (Mark Howe is underrated like its impossible)
Hull
Staal (Seriously, Eric and Jordan have prove something but the others one haven't done **** yet )

I would even put the two Richard brother ahead of Hull and Staal.

Bingo !! we have a winner , exchange the position of the Howe and Hull and i'll agree on EVERY little things you said

**May i just say that Peter Stastny is the player with the most points in the 80's , second only to the Great one . People dont give Peter enough credits on this board .

I'd also pick the Conachers.

- Lionel Conacher was a 3-time all-star defenseman, won two Stanley Cups, and was the runner-up for the Hart trophy twice.

- Charlie Conacher (Lionel's younger brother) led the league in goals five times, as many times as Rocket Richard, Wayne Gretzky or Gordie Howe. He won two Art Ross trophies, and earned a spot on 5 all-star teams.

- Roy Conacher (Lionel's youngest brother) won 1 Art Ross trophy, won 2 Stanley Cups, and led the league in goals as a rookie.

All three of the Conacher brothers are in the Hall of Fame.

- Pete Conacher (Charlie's son) had a decent 229-game career.

- Brian Conacher (Lionel's son) had a 155-game career.

The Sutter's may have had the biggest family, but the Hulls were easily a much, much more dominant family, which this poll is supposed to be about.

The Sutters: 1200 goals, 2934 points in 4994 games.

Bobby, Brett, Dennis Hull: 1654 goals, 3215 points in 3291 games (1957 G, 3850 PTS in 3702 GP if you include Bobby's WHA numbers)

The Sutters were mostly grinders with a couple quality offensive threats (Brent and Brian). The Hull family features two of the very best goal scorers to ever live.

Hulls easily, though the Stastny's have a chance if Paul proves to have just scratched the surface this past season.
