hockey le magasine has NO RESPECT for chris higgins!!!!

in their point projection for players they have higgins with 65gp-22g-16a-38pts wich is not really good but they have koivu, ryder, kovalev, smolinski, plekanec, kostitsyn and latendresse getting more points than him!!!!!!!

is this a joke or what???

myself i predict higgins to score 30goal and get around 55pts this year and hope he will be playing all year long with a letter on his jersey

You're sure you don't made a mistake? Exactly the same numbers than last year? I got this magazine last week and I didn't notice this... I will check after the work...

I don't agree with Mckeen projection about Higgins but on the other hand i don't agree with those who say that Higgins will put 40 goals this year.If anything it should be in between : 25-30 goals and 50ish pts assuming that he play 82 games.

Predictions mean squat!!!

The only way I see Higgins production staying stagnant, or falling, is if he ends up playing on the third line, for most of the year in more of a two way role.....and the only way I can see that would be for players like Latendresse and Kostitsyn winning top two line roles, with Kovalev, Koivu, Ryder and Plekanec.

Most of the players point predictions in that magasine are the same as the total they had last year. It's not even close to being realistic.

If Higgins is actually healthy, I can see him scoring around what you've predicted.

So they predict 196 goals from our top 10 forwards and top 4 def...essentially finishing in last place.

You shouldn't rely on these magazines... This is just a way to make money. But it must be great to make this money by predicting the point totals of next season... without any way of knowing really.

What kind of a magazine is it, when they do not have Grabovski's totals in it?

I agree with this, it usually looks like the magazine is taking numbers from the previous year and tweaking it a bit. They usually don't even check their numbers to see if they even make sense as a whole. I think it was THN last year that said the Habs would finish worse than 10th, but then the goalie records added up to more than 100 points.

edit: forgot to mention the original post.

With a quick look around the list, I don't one player within more than 5 points of last year's totals (increase or decrease) or extrapolated toatal in a full season. So that should be a sign that they are just projecting from last year and changing numbers slightly, not taking weight in change in minutes played or player improvement into account.

This is not certain

The debate about if he's eligible for the 2008 draft is still going on as he was only born 5 days after the cutoff date of eligabilty. The NHL could make an exception for him but no decision has been announced so far (unless i missed something).

Because they don't expect Grabovski to make the team this year and neither do i.I think that they will let him play in the AHL for another year alongside Kosty Jr.

I have a problem with those:
G.Latendresse 82GP 21G 28A 49PTS: I expect something around 30 points if his skating hasn't improve. In fact, I expect Kostitsyn to be so good maybe Latendresse will see some ice in the AHL.
Janne Lahti 73GP 16G 17A 33PTS: it's always hard to predict how a guy will turn out when no one saw him play.... rememebr Somervuori???
Mark Streit 80GP 7G 22A 29PTS: He will get more than 30 points again this season.
