I dont see Gainey picking up a big name RH center at this point. In 1998-1999 when he won the Cup as the Dallas GM, out of 9 centers, none were right shooters. If he does in fact pick up a RH center I see it being an Eastwood type, 4th liner who can win faceoffs to replace Perreault being dealt at the trade deadline.

Jarret Stoll, or Krys Kolanos. Take Kolanos while his value is low.

BG has made a comment along the lines... in regards to a trade, that it would be more along the lines of someone coming in, more than someone leaving.... what to make of this? That he will make a trade without disturbing the current lineup too much? Obtain thru trade by letting a draft pick go? I think everybody is waiting for the 2 for 1 deal... thoughts? I saw this on Sportsnet tonight at 7 pm.... looked like a press conference at the Bell Centre.

This is what that conference must have been... he also mentioned possibly dealing with a team that falls out of playoff contention if the right deal came along... our good play hopefully will continue and thus we will be a buyer not a seller!

Some relevant quotes from the article:

"It would be less about somebody leaving than about somebody coming in," said Gainey. "I don't see a player leaving.

"It's more about a team no longer in (playoff) position being willing to let a player go for future considerations."

Thomas, to protect yourself in the future don't post the whole article, just a quote and a link. It is copyright and it is a problem here at HF or anywhere for that fact if you do that without the permission of the writer or company.

Unless Gainey plans to dump Ribeiro, then it has to be a checking line guy. It would be nice to have a guy like Scatchard to throw out there against Sundin and Thornton tho.

I'd want Kevyn Adams, from the Hurricanes.

Though it'll probably be Mike Eastwood...
