How Excited?

How excited is everyone for this season?

I personally am the least excited I have ever been for this season.
I feel let down and also what they did with the 23 game pack that i didn't renew

but I have been excited the past few seasons and nothing happened, maybe now we might make some noise..

The fact that they revoked us the right to have the packages one week earlier than the public is really a bummer.

I stay pretty reserved about the team until training camp starts. It's hard to get hyped about hockey when it's 30 C outside. But once the pre-season starts and the weather cools, that's when the excitement kicks in for me.

im just as clueless as the rest of you guys what with predictions and all... we just cannot be sure of anything at this point. we could finish anywhere from 1st to 15th is how i like to think about it.you cant really be realistic with habs' predicitions, especially this summer: theres just too much up in the air. we have terrific potential, both in a greatness and mediocrity.

one thing is sure thou: i cant effin wait for the season to start; we may not win em all, but those kids are gonna be fun as hell to watch =)

peace

I feel exactly the same. They may do well, they may not, but I'm not getting my heart broken again. No sir, not this year.

I am confident, though, that we'll have the most exciting games we've seen in a while.

I'm pumped for the season to start. As far as I'm concerned, the team has improved a great deal over last years team. We are going to be a much better team defensively with the additions of Hamrlik and Brisebois and by getting rid of Souray. We added a little more offence upfront with Smolinski too. He isn't going to score 30+ goals but he will definitely put up more points than Bonk.
I am also confident with our goalies. I think with our defence being better, Huet won't have to see as many shots as last year so he will be fresh and be able to stay healthy all season and he has a reliable backup with Halak as well. Price may also see some time, depending on how training camp goes.

I think this season will be a good one for the Habs and I look forward to watching them win.

I'll probably go along with the "least excited in a long time" vibe. I don't have particularly high expectations for this season. Steady growth is nice enough. But not very "exciting".

I think I get more and more excited every day until the season finally starts. I actually go through withdrawals at this time of year every year. Once training camp begins, I can't get enough news and footage. Then the season begins and to me it isn't long enough. It should be 12 months a year. Yeah I'm an addict. Have been for over 40 years.

If it wasn't for the Habs, I probably would only be a fair weather fan. Just watch once in a while. I never even watched the playoffs last year. So I'm a Habs addict first, then a hockey fan second.

its been so long since the habs last played.... i'm very excited for this season!

i find the longest period(and when i get the mots antsy about the season) is when the rookie camp opens...early september...because after that its just too long before regular training camp opens....i know i know its only a couple of weeks or so but i still get antsy and impatient! lol

- AK-46 playing full-time?
- Higgins looking to last 82 games?
- Kovalev with a chip on his shoulder? (presumably )
- The emergence of Carey Price?

This seasons has, 'fap, fap, fap', written all over it

I look forward to seeing how these last few years of solid drafting and patience play out. I can see Lats and A.Kostitsyn cracking the top six, along with other Higgins and Pleks, it should at least give us something to cheer about.

I hated seeing Zednik on the top line almost as much as I hate watching Ryder playing shotgun to Koivu, the sooner we can replace his 30 goals the better.

Maybe Price takes over the no.1 spot and has an amazing rookie year( not too far fetched if you ask me ).... I am not saying we have a shot at the cup, it will probably be a dogfight just to make the playoffs, but there are a lots of things I look forward to...

I've never been so excited about a habs roster before I don't think. When the habs were good I was too young to be this excited.. but seriously I think this team will do a lot of good given the right coaching and leadership. We're still missing a couple of big pieces but I'm very confident in our young guns and I can't wait to surprise the hell out of those so-called NHL "analysts"..

.. but I also agree with the poster who said that this team has the potential to finish pretty much anywhere in the standings...

We lost my favorite player in the offseason(Souray) and while I did like our two first round draft picks, nothing we did this summer excites me. Mark me down for "least excited in a long time". Hell even last year, I was somewhat expecting Samsonov to contribute offensively, or at least be somewhat exciting. No new addition to the roster this year has got me too excited. I do like Lapierre and Latendresse though, so I am excited to see how they will progress but apart from that....meh.

I'm not even sure about the steady growth to be quite honest. We're counting alot on your young guns, something they weren't able to shoulder down the stretch during the playoff hunt. Our defense is marginally improved; the rest pretty much the same. We need our goalies to be close to perfect in order to have a successful season.

They should start the season in september and end it in march, then the habs could own 1 more months before the classic holiday and rest of winter crash.

And frankly, hockey playoffs in june is kind of weird.
