Kovalev, Ryder and a second. You can switch Kovalev with Halak or Aebischer

I met Normand L'Amour 4 days ago. He was parked outside of his van right beside a Gaz Station. I was with 3 of my friends and he tried to "talk god into us". One of the funniest/oddest moments of my life.

Edit: Oh and the guy has made 142 cds (if I remember correctly; including his new "Le Cd du Siecle" (which god told him to name his cd a week ago)) at 5$ each, so you're pretty generous.

Yeah I've also met him a couple of months ago ! Lol, he's so freaking small and funny ! ...Oh and yeah, he has also kinda put God into me.. weird eh ? But now.. God is by my side !! I think that the Habs should really go and see this old man, cause they'll probably need a little help from God next season..!

I was kinda thinking about Tavares the other day. If we're not in playoff contention this year, I'd love to see Gainey make a bold move and blow up part of the team's core. Let the young guys play in 08-09. Maybe they'll surprise and the team will do well. More likely they'll struggle. Then we end up with them gaining some NHL experience, and a lottery pick in the draft to be in Montreal.

Have a team something like this in 08-09:
Latendresse - Koivu - Kovalev
A. Kostitsyn - Grabovski - S. Kostitsyn
Higgins - Plekanec - D'Agostini
Kostopolous - Chipchura - Lapierre

Markov - Komisarek
Hamrlik - O'Byrne
Valentenko - Emelin

Price
Halak

Like I said, I'd try something like that if the team struggles this year and if these guys look like they might be ready to be full-time big leaguers. This is also assuming that Emelin signs next summer. If he doesn't, his spot could go to a Gorges, McDonagh, or Emelin if any of them seem to be ready, or Streit if he is re-signed, or Dandenault or Bouillon if both really can't be traded.

Yes this team is young and inexperienced, but it would be interesting to watch, and at some point, these guys need to have their shot. And if they fail, well, you're looking at a top pick in the Tavares Montreal draft.

Yeah I kinda started this thread because I know we won't win a cup this year... and that we might not be part of the playoffs.. and i also heard somewhere that the league would change the rules so that Tavares would be eligible for this year's draft.. can anyone could tell me if i'm right ?

If Tavares becomes eligible for the 2008 draft, the only way the Habs would have a chance to get him is if the team plane crashed early in the season and they finish last (dead last). The habs would promote the Bulldog players and the team might not finish last. Even if they did finish last, the Habs could still lose the lottery.

I never quite understand the infatuation with getting the #1 rated guys. I just don't think the ignominy of being one of the worst teams in the NHL could EVER be worth it. (And I automatically discount the possibility of there ever being a realistic trade scenario that would get the pick.)

Tavares is a fine prospect, sure. I think if we're going to have a rough year, however, it's more likely to be this year than next. And I think this is going to be a really fine draft year with a solid number of franchise-calibre players in the top-10. Sooo, Tavares is really off the radar as I see it. IF we happen to hit a low this year, we'll get a player that comes within sufficient shouting distance for our needs. The thought that we might blow next year as well is really too dismal to entertain at the moment.

The league is not going to change the draft rules. Tavares' agent is looking into the possibility, but it won't happen, the league isn't even entertaining the idea.
