I'm holding out for Tavares. Little Jimmy Buttertoast looks like a lock for the 2016 draft. Better tank for him.

Random thought, but what If the Avs pick up both of them for 1 year contracts (they have $ 9 mil remaning):

Smyth-Sakic-Selanne
Brunette-Forsberg-Hejduk
Wolski-Stastny-Svatos

Why would Either Forsberg or Selanne want to be Oilers? No offense... nor do I think they'd be Flames. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

Another week, another "should we get ____".

Because we have the option see. The ball is in our court. We just have to sign on the dotted line.

The answer is yes! For sure! So, get on it.

That was basically the thrust of my post. Though I do think K-Lowe should have gifted Teemu some F1 tickets earlier this summer.

You'd probably get the Av's infamous Sakic-Forsberg-Kariya-Hejduk-Tanguay-Selanne-Blake Meltdown of 03-04. I cried on Fantasy Draft Day (I lost out on all of them), but I laughed for the rest of the season

I know that you Oiler fans really want to have Selanne or Forsberg on your team but that will never happen and it will never happen to the Flames either. Since the season ended this is what I heard from both these players and rumors about these players.

Selanne

At this moment he does not know if he will retire or play this season and if he plays the only team he wants to play for is the Ducks. Another thing is Nedimeyer still has to decide whether he wants to retire or not and depending on Nedimeyer's decision it could impact the decision that Selanne makes.

Forsberg

He mentioned in an interview that he wants to get healthy and when he does he wants to play for one of the last three teams he played for which are the Predators, Flyers and Avalance. There are rumors that Vancouver and Ottawa are interested in him and could persuad him since Forsberg has played with Vancouver's Marcus Naslund and Ottawa's Daniel Alfredsson on Team Sweden during World championships and Olympics.

Basically Edmonton and even Calgary have no future for Forsberg and he wants to go to a team he feels comfortable with. He not the most dominating player he was when he came into the leauge and with his foot injury he would rather play for a team that does not want him to be the most dominate player that he was in past years. For Selanne he has many good years left and could be able to help any team do well but in Edmonton he would be the best forward on the team but would not have a the good supporting case to help him develop into same player he was in Anaheim. So if Selanne does not retire he will stay a Duck unless he gets offered big bucks buy a team you can count on making the playoffs year after year.

hmm.. should we get Forsberg?
No
Why "get Forsberg", when we can hold out for Crosby, Ovenckin or Malkin?
I think we could possibly snag Malkin from Pittsburgh since they would love a shot at Marc Pouliot who played with Crosby in Junior
Does anyone know KLowe's email adress so I can let him know about this oppertunity.
Once we have Malkin, I'm willing to take a look at "getting" Forsberg.
