The only other person I'd consider on the team is Legwand.

With Sullivan out, he seems like a logical choice.

Captain - Arnott
Assistant - Sullivan
Assistant - Dumont

Per the Tennessean

I'm surprised the Tennessean didn't point out the need for 14,000 paid attendance in this article!

Congrats to Arnie! He deserves it!

I always loved him as a player and I thought he was great when he was with the Devils! He's still one of my favourite players!

They couldn't have made a better choice. He's got the experience, consistency, and Stanley Cup ring to make this work.

I'm surprised it didn't read: Preds name captain, but will they be in Nashville?

----

I posted earlier, but it didn't show up (likely due to the crappy internet connection I have here in Blacksburg). Arnott will likely elevate his game as a captain. I like the choices, but I still think Sullivan would have been the captain had he been healthy enough to start the season.

Good luck to Arnott! Circa 2001, a lot of Devils' fans were thinking he might be the one to take the captain C when Stevens retired. Little did we know he'd be traded well before he'd have a chance.

Good for Arnott. He left us under less-than-ideal circumstances, but he's made good on his career since.

I can dig this.

But I do wonder what are the chances for "SAD"-line coming back when (Yes, when, not if. ) Sully returns... I mean, it'd be a bit odd for a team to ice captain and assistans at the same time, am I right?

well maybe we will pull a Detroit Red Wings, and let every single player on the ice jaw at the officials every chance they get. Who needs captains?
