EA Sports Needs our Help!

Alright guys. The dev team has asked me to put up these questions because you guys (the hardcore) know what you're talking about. This is VERY important, and the more specific you can get, the better! Show your true colors and answer these questions as they would pertain to your team!

This is for NHL 09 NOT 08

1 - Does your home arena have a goalie chant? What is it? What does it sound like? Do you have any examples?

2 - Who is the crowd favorite and what is the crowd chant that is used to address him? Can be more than one!

3 - What is/are the team chants used in arena during a game?

4 - Are there any playoff specific chants used in your arena?

5 - What, if any, opposing teams does your arena have chants for? What are these chants?

6 - What song or music is played after a goal is scored?

7 - What song or music is played after an opposing team receives a penalty?

8 - What is the intro that your team uses at the beginning of the game? What song plays? Are the lights on/off? Does the crowd chant anything? Are there any props involved in the intro. Ex San Jose coming out of a shark.

9 - Are there any other crowd chants that are unique to your arena? What are they and how are they used?

http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread....68663&tstart=0

------------------------------------------------

Answer those questions if you may do so and post a response on the forums. Maybe we can get some awesome atmosphere in the game next year!

We are doing their jobs because we want it done right.

I will give some of these a try, but I don't get to the games in person very often...

1 - Does your home arena have a goalie chant? What is it? What does it sound like? Do you have any examples?

2 - Who is the crowd favorite and what is the crowd chant that is used to address him? Can be more than one!
Daniel Alfredsson - I believe the Chant in the Playoffs was: Alfie, Alfie, Alfie but I admit it may have been more elaborate.

3 - What is/are the team chants used in arena during a game?
Go Sens Go is the most popular

4 - Are there any playoff specific chants used in your arena?

5 - What, if any, opposing teams does your arena have chants for? What are these chants?
Well, the fans boo Yashin and Sundin.

6 - What song or music is played after a goal is scored?
The Via Rail horn sounds and then there are a few depending on the player who scored:
Alfredsson - I believe it was: Beautiful Day by U2
Heatley - The Heat is On - Glen Fry

7 - What song or music is played after an opposing team receives a penalty?

8 - What is the intro that your team uses at the beginning of the game? What song plays? Are the lights on/off? Does the crowd chant anything? Are there any props involved in the intro. Ex San Jose coming out of a shark.
The Sens Theme (great tune with horns and drums only)!

9 - Are there any other crowd chants that are unique to your arena? What are they and how are they used?

I really hope someone with more first hand experience can verify and add the missing info. The right chants and songs could really enhance the gameplay!

6 - What song or music is played after a goal is scored?
Blur - "song 2"
generic goal song
Glenn Frey - "The Heat Is On"
Dany Heatley's goal song.
Bodyrockers - "I Like the Way You Move"
Jason Spezza's goal song.
U2 - "Beautiful Day"
Daniel Alfredsson scores.
Thousand Foot Krutch - "Mike Fisher"
Mike Fisher's goal song.
Loverboy - "Lovin' Every Minute of It"
when the Sens score their sixth goal - the "Pizza Goal"

7 - What song or music is played after an opposing team receives a penalty?

2 Unlimited - "The Workaholic"

8 - What is the intro that your team uses at the beginning of the game? What song plays? Are the lights on/off? Does the crowd chant anything? Are there any props involved in the intro. Ex San Jose coming out of a shark.
Lights of, drum beat for a while, and when the players hit the ice, the horn song plays

from sens website.

1 - Does your home arena have a goalie chant? What is it? What does it sound like? Do you have any examples?
I've heard "RAY-ZOR! RAY-ZOR!" a few times.

2 - Who is the crowd favorite and what is the crowd chant that is used to address him? Can be more than one!
Fisher's got to be one of the top crowd favourites. I can't think of a chant for him, but he has his own song when he scores. His friend wrote it.

3 - What is/are the team chants used in arena during a game?
"Go Sens Go!" and "Leafs suck!"

4 - Are there any playoff specific chants used in your arena?
"Alfie! Alfie!" was pretty popular in the playoffs. But I guess that applies to #2 as well.

5 - What, if any, opposing teams does your arena have chants for? What are these chants?
As previously mentioned, "Leafs Suck!" for guess who?

6 - What song or music is played after a goal is scored?
For Dany Heatley, "The Heat is On!", other than that, it varies. Song 2 by Blur is popular, though.

7 - What song or music is played after an opposing team receives a penalty?
There's the short little power play ditty that has sort of bells in it. It varies for the PK.

8 - What is the intro that your team uses at the beginning of the game? What song plays? Are the lights on/off? Does the crowd chant anything? Are there any props involved in the intro. Ex San Jose coming out of a shark.
All the lights are out with a few Sens logos and red spotlights moving around the ice. There's this sort of drumming, and a few kids dressed in Sens jerseys skate around the ice carrying Sens flags. Then they line up on either side of the door onto the ice, as video shows Chris Neil standing in the corridor outside the dressing room giving props to the players as they come out. Then they step out onto the ice, starting goalie first, and a trumpet sound plays. They've been using the drumming/trumpet for as long as I can remember.

9 - Are there any other crowd chants that are unique to your arena? What are they and how are they used?
Other than the ones previously mentioned, a lot of people join in with "Woo-hoo". There's also the "Pizza! Pizza!" chant when it's getting close to 6 goals. Also, just as a side note, whenever the Sens win at home, "Lovin' Every Minute of it" by Loverboy plays.

"Go Sens Go" should comprise of at least 50 % of the chanting in any game.

In the playoffs Sens fans like to chant the opposing goalie or Crosby's name in the sing-songy chants.

"Alfie" may also be chanted. It is not more elaborate then that

Finally, once in a blue moon, people will chant "Let's go Senators, Let's go" I think.

The team giave out red pom-poms this year in the playoffs, but will hopefully use red towels next year.

Don't the guys at EA ever go to games or watch them on TV. All you have to do to get the info they want is go to a game or watch one on TV

They should send some interns out to the arenas with audio recorders and use the real thing in-game. Would make for a pretty sweet sounding game.

When playing the Toronto Maple Leafs, the following chant prevails:

GO LEAFS GO

lol

I think it would be hilarious if the Go Sens Go and Go Leafs Go chants were played at the same time in NHL09 to drown each other just like in Leafs/Sens games.

Maybe the ACC crowd could boo their team off the ice like everytime Ottawa plays there ::

That would actually be cool as hell - in most EA games I've seen, the crowd is the same in terms of attendance and excitement regardless of who's playing or winning. Imagine if they actually got a little crowd AI in there where'd you'd get large numbers of Leafs or Habs fans at the Sens games, or other rivalry games.

I refuse to help EA sports in any way until they bring the PC version of NHL games to next gen, which probably won't happen until the ps2 dies off.
