If he has decent chemistry with Jagr - 90 Points

Anything less then at least 80 points IMO.

I still contend that he will work with Shanny. He's better off being paired with a sniper (like he was with Mogilny a season or two ago).

But he should see about 70~75 points. You gotta remember, he doesn't shoot much, so the majority of his pointage is going to be from assists.

Gomez's best seasons was when he was on a line with a sniper (Mogilny). When he was on the EGG, they clicked for a bit before going rotten. Elias and Jagr are similar in that they both want the puck themselves in the zone. Gomez also wants the puck too.

He will prolly bounce back and forth between the two lines next season a lot, which may hurt total point production.

I agree. He should be skating between two pure scorers - Shanny and Prucha.

If he plays with Jagr and Straka, their passes will be wasted on him. Drury can both shoot and pass, which would work with Jagr and Straka... and less so with Shanny and Prucha.

First off he didnt play all that well with Mogilny (who played only one year with the devils in which he tallied 25 points). The chemistry MIGHT have been there but it was too short of a time period to say he played well with a sniper.
Second off the amount of points you Ranger fans think he going to tally this year is a bit high! I mean youre talking about a 32 year old who has never had more than 78 points in a season! Even playing with Jagr he will max out at 80 points for the season but realisticly thinking I would say 71.

<B>There were 14 players last year with over 90 points. He is NOT that good.

Are you talking about Drury or Gomez?. I didn't see any predictions for how many Drury will get in here and Gomez is only 27.

THN says he's going to have 87. If he does, I will be quite happy. Anything in or over the 70-75 area would be fine and anything above 90 would be a very nice surprise. I do agree though that if he's shuffled between the first and second line, that could hurt his point production. Although if he gets instant chemistry with either Shanny or Jagr, I see that line staying together for as long as possible even though Renney does seem to enjoy playing with the lines (almost too much sometimes, in my opinion)

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. Its like, if he develops chemistry with JJ I would almost expect 90-100 pts, maybe even up to 105 or something if our PP is hot and JJ is hot.

Though, I wouldn't be suprised if Gomez ends up on our 2nd line, JJ have had great chemistry with sniper types centers who shoot from right. Drury fits better into that bill then Gomez. Drury is so adjustable, a expert on adjusting to others -- like Forsberg, Sakic and Vanek.

Anyway with Avery and Shanahan getting 75 pts is pretty good for Gomez. 70 pts wouldn't be bad on a 2nd line.

Somewhere around 90 points if hes with Jagr and both are healthy the entire season.

I'd also expect him to break +20 for the first time in his career.

Nylander had never scored more than 64 points prior to playing with Jagr. Past 2 years, 79 and 83 respectively. Most people rate Gomez>Nylander, so that same level of production, at least, is a realistic expectation IMO.

I know people say well he played with Elias and Gionta in NJ and they very good players, but none of them even can compare to Jagr, so I think if Gomez gels with Jagr he can hit 90 - 100 points.

Otherwise we'll see how GPS can do

Are you talking about Gomez? His best season was 84 points. And he's not 32, he's 27.

I'm not so sure Jagr & Gomes are gonna play together either, I see Gomez with Shanny, Drury will be better suited to play with Jagr,
I see gomes doing 75 pts 20 to 25 goals.
