Maybe if we can get a mod to start this up, we can get a sign up thread. We should try to get enough people to fill a section

another very popular soccer chant in europe, to the tune of Quantana Mera

There's only one Jaromir Jagr, there's only one Jaromir Jagr, there's only one Jaromir Jagr.....There's only one Jaromir Jagr!

sounds much cooler when 10.000 chant it than on paper

another highly effective chant
quote from Wikipedia:

One chant that is sung by an improbable proportion of clubs is sung to the tune of the chorus of The Wild Rover. For example, "And it's Queen's Park Rangers, clap-clap-clap-clap, Queen's Park Rangers FC, are by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen."

Manchester United supporters customarily sing Always Look on the Bright Side of Life when leading; Manchester City fans regularly sing a somewhat sinister riposte, Always Look on the Runway for Ice, a reference to the tragic Munich air disaster of February 6, 1958, in which 23 of the 43 people on board died, 8 of them Man United players. This has been countered in recent years, such as against Leeds United, when the song was modified to Always look out for Turks carrying knives, kebab, kebab, kebab, a reference to the two Leeds supporters who were fatally stabbed whilst in Turkey for a UEFA Cup match
unquote

I can imagine humiliating the Isles and Devils when we are ahead with singing = Look at the bright side of live...... or when they have
been eliminated from playoffs - cynic and fun!

Another highly effective fans prank is when the announcers announce
a player, let's say

No. 88 Michael Nylander - The fans collectively shout, with a strong dose of irony - WHO?????

That is a classic!

Simple and bloody effective!

here are some Juve chants with audio. Don't need huge songs, just some fun songs . Of course some are vulgar, but that's ok, lol.

Well of course we wouldn't sing in italian. Some of the chants are so basic though, and you can turn them into songs.
the first just says:
Ole' Ole' Ole' Ole'. Juve! Juve!

2nd: Bianconeri ale' ale' ale'.... (black & white)

3rd: Forza Juve facci un gol. Go Juve score/make a goal

etc...

To the army cadence kind of things:
1st group: Broadway Blueshirts' who we are!!
2nd group: Broadway Blueshirts' who we are!!
1st group: Throw the Islanders under the car!!
2nd group: Throw the Islanders under the car!!
1st group: Jaromir Jagr Score a Goal!!
2nd group: Jaromir Jagr Score a Goal!!
1st group: Sean Avery Kick Their Hole!!
2nd group: Sean Avery Kick Their Hole!!
etc.

lol, idk.

Or how about
I don't know what I have heard!
I don't know what I have heard!
Tom Poti is a Nerd!

The Italian club fans are crazy organised, though. They usually have a leader in the stands with a loudspeaker leading the chants. You'd probably get ejected from the Garden for that.

Celtic has some GREAT chants and songs. I'd like to see some of them adapted for our boys... especially since they use that god awful "R-A-N-G-E-R-S" song they stole from those filthy huns Glasgow Rangers.

This one is a tad clumsy, but how about...
(to the tune of "Glory, Glory Hallelujah")

"The famous Islanders went to Rome to see the Pope...
the famous Islanders went to Rome to see the Pope...
the famous Islanders went to Rome to see the Pope...
And this is what he said:
Who the ****** are the Islanders...
who the ****** are the Islanders...
who the ****** are the Islanders...
The Blueshirts are marching on!"

I'll try to adapt some others...
Needs more cowbell

as some of you pointed out its the culture problems... Englishmen and women will bear 40 degree tempatures and rain, stand the whole game, be drunk off their ass, and love every minute of it. Here you come to a game and its a pain if someone is standing up. The best stands ive been apart of is Clarkson Hockey, because no one sits and its just a blast.

That's why I say the only way it would ever work is for a bunch of people who want to sing to go in as a group and do it for a couple games straight and then hopefully it spreads to other sections and then eventually the whole building.

I will be more then willing to do that. Once we get a good song together we should be proud to say we started an amazing tradition. That's the main thing I admire from European sporting events. It would set the Ranger fans and organization apart from the rest of the league and country in that respect, and make MSG an even more amazing place to play/watch. Plus I would love an excuse to stand all game, I hate sitting anyway!

"For it's a grand, ol' team to play for...
And it's a grand ol' team to see...
And if... you know... your history...
It's enough to make the heart go "**** the Islanders"...
We don't care what the animals say...
What the hell do we care...
For we only know...
That's there's gonna be a show...
And the New York Rangers will be there!"

A good song? We need good songs my friend. 60 minutes is a long time.

If we could set this up though, it'd be fantastic. Just try to get about two or three games in a row for a group sale with all HFers who are willing to do this. Then throughout the game we just sing for our team and against the other team and see how it goes. I would love to see other sections join in with us, it'd be amazing to just see it spread throughout the arena.

Plus I see lots Europeans at Rangers games all the time. So many Czechs and Swedes and such, I could guarantee that they'd join in.

I think if it goes down there'd have to be two requirements though.

1. Obviously you'd have to sing
2. You have to agree to be buzzed/drunk (unless you never drink, then I guess I can understand). I know when I'm drunk I sing random crap all the time.

You're right, rookie mistake, my apologies. And of course flowing brews would have to be a tremendoues piece to the completion of the fight song

Ah, good good then. No worries.
Because it's atrocious what that team stands for, and the history behind them.
