Jussi Jokinen is Close to Re-Signing

According to Mike Hieka, on the DMN Star's Blog, Jussi Jokinen is close to signing a two year contract worth $1.8 million a year. I'm shocked that it is that low and thought it at least would have to be over $2 million, but Heika said that his source was Todd Diamond, one of Jokinen's agents.

Check out the story at the DMN Stars Blog: http://stars.beloblog.com/?nl

so he could be there for the training camp...

because yesterday Armstrong said he wouldn't be surprised if he misses the beginning because the visa process takes some time.

For the price tag....well it's more than i'd pay him, but let's see if they trade him for a RW

not too bad for one of our top 5 point scorers over the last 2 years is how I look at it. This is what keeping your head brings, as opposed to caving to fan demands and signing 2 or 3 overpriced free agents which you'll regret down the line. noone can say the stars have not set themselves up in a position to compete this coming season, with excellent chances to improve their roster before the trade deadline ^^.

If you go to the blog, Heika addresses the visa issue. He said that if they get it done today, and the US allows him to file for a visa electronically, then there is a chance he is here in time for camp.
