Ulanov will i bet but i would rather have Ulanov than Ferguson, too bad MacT doesn't see that way

Bregeron could still be the 7th dman in the PB spilting time with Ferguson not semenov i only hope

Here would be the dmen I would go with:

Smith - Brewer
Cross - Semenov
Ulanov - Staios

Fergy - 7th dman

Bergy - back to the farm

That'd be my ideal line-up on defense, too, assuming Ulanov keeps playing well. Rotate Ferguson and MAB through the press box as the 7th guy depending on which team we're playing, but keep Ulanov in the lineup!

Funny, I think of the Oilers' blue-line depth a lot better now having seen Ulanov play well and Luoma & Lynch do OK in their games than at the start of the season. The depth is not bad at all, and I could even see Lowe standing pat like this to make sure the team doesn't suffer hugely by another big injury to one of our 'studs' on defense down the stretch & into the playoffs.

And you know this how?

Don't forget, Mac-T completely rode Ulanov that one year.

I didn't know Ryan Smyth could play defense.

Ulanov won't be going back down when Smith comes back. Why would they have signed him to a contract then just trun around and send him down to the AHL again? That doesn't make much sense at all. Bergeron will likely be the odd man out.

i still think Bergeron can help the PP and play better than fergusona nd Ulanov, but you may be right b/c opf his 2 way two contract and thefact that he dopesn't have to pass through waivers

I like the players just not the pairings. I would do this

Brewer Semenov
Staois Smith
Ulanov and Cross

Fergy for a pick and Bergeron as the 7th.

yea i guess i think that way to but do u think they would leave Bergeron up here just to rotate him out with fergy or semi? Why does MacT like fergy sooooo much? thats just crazy i wish he could go down but we all know that won't happen...and if bergeron is in the press box and rotating out with fergy...i don't see bergy getting more time...i think they might leave him for when they really really need him...that just bites...he is a good player

Bergeron? Well, he does create offensively and makes passes some of our other dmen could never dream of doing... he tends to get lost and outmuscled in his own zone. That's a big reason why MacT is a little wary of using him consistently in all situations.

In the paper on Sunday (I think), they said thursday was the likely date. In any case , he'll be back soon.

It could be as soon as Thursday against the Islanders and if not then, then either against Philly or Washington.

I don't know, he was scratched in favour of Semenov and Bergeron for a couple of games until Cross got injured and then he drew back in. Luoma also came into the lineup and immediately got more icetime than Fergie. I can see how you would think MacT favours him, but things seem to be changing. With a healthy D, I really can't see MacT putting Ferguson any higher than a 7th on this team.
