Sydor?

With all the problems on D lately, would anyone be interested is Sydor.
He is not a # 1, but is a solid 2 way d-man who should be a lock for 30-35 pts. He is having a miserable season in Columbus, and could be had I think relatively cheap(2nd rounder or Huml +) as Columbus might be looking to dump a little salary. He is a little pricey at 3+ mill/yr, but is signed for 2 more years I believe. Sydor, Boynton, Morrisson and Jillson would give us some nice mobility from the back end, Sydor can also run the pp a bit. We might even get them to take one of our pending ufa d-men in the deal.
Thought's?

Well, Brett Hull said Sydor was better than Teppo Numminen.

sydor makes more than 3 million per year. i think it's 4 million or more. and he's signed for 3 years. he's a very good player, but he doesn't fit into the OC master plan w/regards to contracts.

Sydor makes 3.5m, this year, and he made that last year too. McGillis makes 3.2 or 3.3, and we won't be paying him next year with any luck. Sydor would be worth every penny for the B's - if they aren't willing to shell out this kind of money they're going to lose it in revenues (playoffs, etc.) anyhow even in the short run.

3.5 million this year. If he is signed for the next three years he should be a target for a pick...even a second rounder. Nice stabilizing veteran on the blue line, moves the puck well, skates well. It would only be adding 1.7 this year. If he is available he would be great.

oooohhff......speaking of Sydor he just took a puck square in the mouth off the stick of an Avs player. He's heading down the runway as I type this with a blood soaked rag to his kisser. ouch.

Sign me up... unless his play has plummeted in the last two years, this is a top-flite defenseman. If Columbus is looking to unload salary I am guessing they will get some generous offers in terms of talent in return.

i would love to see Sydor with the Bruins. As others said, he may be signed for the 2 next seasons but he makes 3.5M$. McGillis is making 3.3 and O'Donnel 2.5. There is room for him on the blueline and a pick would maybe get it done.

Wonder if a Sydor for Zam's deal would work,,,,,,salary wise and trade wise?

Salary wise, no.
Trade wise, no.
For the Blue Jackets. Nobody want Zamuner. If the BJ wants to trade Sydor, it will be for a prospect/pick/young cheap player. If not, it doens'nt make sense for them to trade him. He his their best defenseman. As others said, the only reason they would trade him is if they want to unload some $. Adding Zamuner makes zero sense for them. For the Bruins, it would be the perfect trade.
I don't know what it would take and if the BJ really want to trade him but i'll really be happy if Sydor is a Bruins this year.
