Riley Cote question

bruins fan here, just wondering what you guys are expecting from Cote this season. Will he even be up in the NHL this year? i think with the additions this team made in the offseason, they need a legitimate body guard, without the likes of Brashear. Eager showed he can throw down with middles/light weights, but is having Cote a necessity this season?

He is working hard and wants to be on the team. Training camp will tell us more. Cote had a few good moments last season. Eager and Cote in NHL on the same team? Seems too much liability there. I'd say AHL.

Yeah I agree he'll be in the AHL. And he will play well. But watch out b/c he's only going to get much better.

I think he'll play 25-35 games against teams with heavyweights that they are likely to dress.

Cote isn't going to see a lot of time, except when you are playing against teams that they'll need a heavyweight.

I wouldn't say Eager is a liability, so saying him and Cote are too bad to both be in the lineup is a bit inaccurate IMO. Assuming the Flyers don't trade for an enforcer, I figure Cote will see 40-50 games this year. My concern is that he will get pounded by the top heavies, in which case we might see considerably less of him. Bottom line is the Flyers need someone who can handle the likes of Laraque, Brashear, Orr, McGrattan, Peters, etc., and Cote will be given the opportunity to do so. If I had to bet I'd say he won't be able to, but hopefully I'm wrong.

We play 32 games in our division. Cote (or some other fighter-type) will play at least 90% of those games. 25-35 is a pretty solid estimate.

I never heard that - what did he say exactly?

I seriously doubt he could catch him or survive the ensuing beating by Laraque but would LOVE to see it nonetheless... maybe knock out some more of his teeth and make him cry like the ***** that he is.
