A week is a bit long. We can probably set a start date for Monday or Tuesday.

Depends on how much trading at the top there will be, there's lots of talk

If the consensus is to keep the start date as is, I wouldn't mind going with something like we did last draft, allowing people to make their picks before then if they choose to but not enforcing time limits until after the start. That way we can get this going without penalizing people expecting/wanting it to start later.

But personally, I think something like Wednesday would give people plenty of time to talk trades.

Top Players, ATD 6 and 7

  CS... RU... FF... TOTAL
C Adam Oates 2 2
RW Bobby Rousseau 2 2
C Doug Risebrough 2 2
D Ted Harris 2 2
D Brad Park 1 1 2
G Johnny Bower 1 1 2
G Hap Holmes 2 2
LW Bert Olmstead 1 1 2
RW Ed Westfall 1 1 2
D Eddie Shore 1 1 2

This shows the number of times a player has appeared on a championship, runner-up or final four team.

Gordie Howe and Earl Seibert have each won the ATD Conn Smythe once.

Interesting, of course, but I doubt that this will persuade BM67 or Nalyd to take Harris over Orr.

Might be interested in trading down... for the right offer, of course.

Agreed with pit and HO. A sense of excitement is in the air. The draft is almost here. HO, I think you said it before last draft: HF loses a little bit of its excitement during the draft off-seasons. Maybe I've spent too much time reading bilros' drivel. Whatever. But regardless of whether we start tomorrow, Wednesday or next Saturday, I'm suddenly more interested in HF.

I think I had around 500 or 600 posts for the last draft and related threads.

more like 5 or 6 thousand posts

I'm not gonna take Harris over Orr, but Rousseau over Orr, hmm...

if my anything is bad, I'm really really drunk right now...

I'm always willing to listen to offers, though at the moment I'm pretty statisfied.

We'd like to announce that the Oakland Seals and Gwinnett Gladiators have agreed to the first trade of All-Time Draft #8.

from Oakland: 2nd (54th overall) + 5th (114th overall) + 8th (223rd overall)

from Gwinnett: 3rd (79th overall) + 4th (90th overall) + 7th (191st overall)

Rick will confirm this.

Yes, we have that kind of foresight. We're also thinking of trading up into the 17th round, but are only willing to trade our 24th round pick.

Anyone opposed to starting this thing earlier than Saturday? Most of the GMs who have posted thus far have been ok with it, though it may be that those against it aren't vocal about it.

I think we should start now if the person up wishes to go ahead and pick; if BM67 or whoever wants to wait for trade offers, up to them, but let us gogogogogo.

Seeing as though my application for the military seems to be going well I was wondering if anyone would want to be a co-General Manager with myself as I might have to leave around half way through the draft - well at least I hope I have to leave half way through the draft....

Along the same lines could I change my name to the Calgary RCAF Mustangs... just for the added significance... and I like changing my name.

Yeah, I like the sound of that, no time limits until Saturday but we can start making picks right away. I thought it worked out well when we did it last draft.

I'm actually ridiculously jealous. Their shows are supposed to be an absolute blast.

One of the worst things about being back on the Island is how few shows I get to go to now.

Strange, all these later picks being traded and little interest in the #1 pick.
