Very nice little collection of prospects there, should be interesting to follow. Hopefully a line of Kostitsyn - Chipchura - D'agostini gets put together at some point, would like to see what they could do together.

Thanks for posting the info

I thought they could go to camp but they had to pay their own way. Or is that something else I'm confusing with this?

yup there are varying levels of experience at Rook camp... Lahti and Valentenko are rooks in NA but are more experienced players than many on the list... should benefit the camp and these guys who are knocking on the door (O'Byrnes and Chipchuras) should benefit from the extra ice.

Maybe it is for coaching????

I mean look at the guy! He looks like A MAN 25 to 27 on some pictures. Maybe they want to work on his skating??? That would make sense. Bring latendresse there too! Maybe the habs want him to develop his leadership habilities (wich seems to be a main force with this guy) by helping the coaching staff or being captain of his team when they play against each other . If they see him as a future captain and want to develop him into that, that makes sense. I think he'll be a great player for us.

Acadie-Bathurst Titan defenseman:
1987-06-26 19
D 70 8 40 48 146 (06-07)

6'00" 203 lbs.

He can be physical as you see his penalty minutes and has good mobility and a strong point shot plus good wrist shot.
PP QB last season after Carle's departure.

Personally, I'd expect Chipchura and O'Byrne are there to get up to speed quicker in preparation for training camp proper. This gives them a chance to get warmed up and ready and make their strongest possible case for a spot on the team. It also gives management a little extra time to evaluate them. The extra time might just help them win a spot on the team and if not, it is a chance to start gelling early on with a bunch of guys who they will be playing alongside in Hamilton next year.

I would love to see Chipchura make the big club this year. Is anyone going to be watching any of the rookie camp action?

School has started for most colleges in the US. Their teams will begin captain's practices very soon as the season starts in a little over a month.

As for the list, glad to see Gleed there, I wasn't sure what the teams plans are for him but I hope they keep him around, he might be under contract with Hamilton for all I know, as someone said to me they thought he signed a two year deal with the Dogs but on the dogs press release from last summer it just says he was signed, no details on how long. I know that Lever liked him in his short stint with the Dogs and even used him at forward once.

Also interesting to see the tryouts, we are loaded on defense for the Dogs (very heavy with RD's especially if Gleed is back) but it would be nice to have some depth on the left side, they can spend some time Cincinnati.

I'm a little surprised to see Chipchura/O'B/D'Ago there, but perhaps they wanted to have some sort of veteran presence at camp.

Also good to see Conboy and Kishel there, not sure what the rules are for them since they don't attend school for another year, so clearly it must be ok for them to attend.

Loverock gets another chance to make an impression. Piche is an interesting guy and Desharnais is a guy that Carbo knows well since he is part owner of the Sags. Labrie I know I've seen him a few times but I can't really think of any sort of impression he made on me with Bathurst.
