How the hell does this trade help us? Zherdev is about as overrated as Kovalev.

Is this a joke?

Are you dreaming of the 1st overall pick or what?

I might do Dandenault for Zherdev straight up but that's about it...

Why???? We give up WAYYYY too much for an under-achieving player like Zherdev! I would rather keep Kovalev because he is a better player than Zherdev and the same goes for Ryder. How many seasons did Zherdev score 30 goals?

You obviously aren't a Habs fan if you think this is a good trade....cuz if you were a Habs fan you would realize that Ryder is our top goal scorer and that Kovalev is very capable of turning his game around this season and putting point on the board. Give your head a good hard shake before you make anymore proposals please.....thanks

Some of you guys might be underrating the option to swap firsts in that trade. Columbus aren't very good this year, that pick could be really high in an excellent draft. Not that I support the trade or anything, but that swap of picks could be extremely valuable.

They'd never do this.

The only guy from Columbus I have interest in, that is realistically aquireable, is Chimera.

I wouldn't go near Zherdev with a ten foot pole. That kid has the worst attitude in the entire NHL. I know someone in the CBJ organization and he said that Zherdev is just a disrespectful punk. Also, if you watched the draft, how many times did Dougie MacLean badmouth Zherdev. He is a coach killer. He is a GM killer. He would make Samsonov seem like a nominee for sainthood.

No to Zherdev.

I love to read trade proposals, even when they don't make sense.

You could get heavily bashed for a proposal like this.

If Zherdev came here, he'd be off to Russia by Christmass!

i'd much rather have Fritsche if we are going to make a substantial offer to CBJ... In my opinion he's twice the hockey player that Zherdev is

I agree with the majority here. I would pass on this proposal.

bad proposal
bad lineup

who will replace Grabovski when he dies from getting hit while he's looking at his feet? What is Latendresse doing on the third line?

There is some merit to the proposal, but we lose out on it.

Columbus would never trade 1st round picks with us, especially if we're only giving them veterans. Kovalev and Dandenault have little value, Ryder has some but is a UFA at season's end.

I don't think it's far off, to be honest. Zherdev for Ryder, Dandenault (no pick swap) could be closer.

Enigma for lesser enigma and depth utility defenseman.

I'm surprised the obvious rejoinder to that hasn't yet been pointed out by any member from our Official Bandwagon of Doom and Gloom. We might be just as bad as Columbus. (*Especially* if we dealt Kovalev and Ryder both for Zherdev!!!!)

I'd have to say "just say no to Zherdev" would be a good policy right now. Columbus probably isn't quite at the breaking point yet where they give him away cheaply. And he's not worth rolling the dice to acquire at the present-tense asking price. Maybe if he goes on the scrap heap and we're down to "Plan D" reclamation projects next summer in the wake of failing to sign anybody of significance we can swap a 3rd round pick for him or something.

It 's largely overpaid , but it 's interesting because of cap issue ;

How much money cost the combo Ryder - Kovalev - Dandeneault versus Zerdhev ?

Dandeneault doesn't have much valuefor us , Ryder is going to play elsewhere after the trade deadline anyway .Kovalev is so enigmatic ...

For a team that needs more goal, this is the worst thing to do. I dont mind Zherdev but we lose Ryder and Kovalev, two of our best offensive player, for an enigmatic Zherdev who scored 10 goals last season?

Im not a fan of Ryder but he's been consistent and should probably score 30 goals again this season. Kovalev can not be worst than last season, i see him score at least 20 goals and hes still the key of succes on the powerplay.

Makes sense for neither team. CLB doesn't need the more "proven" talent right now it needs young guys. Ryder would be the only fit, maybe.

I'd much rather Kovalev, Ryder, and Dandenault on the current addition of the Canadiens than Zherdev. Maybe if we were going into a complete rebuild, AGAIN, this deal could work but we already are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and there is no point in dismantling for prospects with attitude problems especially.

I can see why you'd like the trade though as when you add up all of the ages we come out younger. You've got an insatiable need for youngsters on the Habs that hasn't been quenched after years of seeing our prospects come up and 1000's of useless posts on HFBoards.
