I went to Cosbys today and just got last years CCM Lundqvist in home blue.

On my way back up to the 59th St bridge I drove up 6th and checked it out. There's a big ol' NHL emblem in the front glass, can't miss it. Looks pretty big.

I saw the place today.

WARNING: DO NOT BRING YOUR GIRLFRIENDS OR WIVES.

Why you ask? Because it is right next to th diamond district. I can see it now. On October 28th, some poor sap is going to post on here about his Saturday night in the city for Rangers-Leafs. It will go something like this:

"So, I took my wife/girlfriend into the city for the game. We went in early and had a very nice dinner at (insert expensive restaurant here). Then we walked up to 47th to see the NHL Store. To make her happy, we went to the jewelry stores nearby and HOLY ^#%#, $100,000,000,000,000,000,000 later, she was in a good mood and I was in tears."

I stopped in there today, as well. Asked if last years model is or will be on sale. Guy said no and probably not. Apparently they are still making the old jerseys. He didnt have any new jerseys in, said the authentics will cost $350. I then said, "Forget that, I'll stick with the old." Guy said they expect most people will. Needless to say, he didn't seem happy about the new unis. They DID have a cool little Rangers tailgate table. Not sure how much it cost, might get it friday, when I go to the pre-season game.

Saw your thread and I also heard that XM is putting a radio studio in the NHL store to act as a satellite studio for their New York hosts.
The studio will probably be along the windows so you can make fun of EJ Hradek when you see him.

Excellent (said in a Montgomery Burns/Jeremy Jacobs voice) - maybe I can get them to fix the short in my MyFi's headphone jack - !!

Hopefully I can make a point of it to be down there for the grand opening, but if not the same day, the same week. The NHL better have done a good job with this official store because if they don't measure up to the NBA Store, it won't be a profitable venture for the league.

Haha, an instant classic, my ex always told me to stop buying new Ranger jerseys this year she told me I cant get any which I was clearly going to disobey but now it doesn't matter because we broke up. My ex probably wouldn't let me even visit the store.

My girlfriend and I walked by it last year and managed to miss most of the Diamond District but I wonder if I should tell her about it now

Yeah, I can't imagine there being any deals to speak of, except perhaps for closeouts at the end of the season. This is where the term MSRP is the rule, not the exception. I'm sure it will be fun to poke around in there though.

Can't wait, i'll bring my credit cards, with the expected prices i'll probably have to split the cost of a jersey between a few cards

Just heard on NHL Live that the store will open on October 12. Looks like they may have pushed the opening back a week.

Sounds like you need some higher credit limits.

Yeah, it was hard to believe by the way the place looked when i went by there a few weeks ago that it would be ready by the 5th. Stupid NHL, should be ready before the season starts.

Anyone know if players will be there signing autographs for the opening? Would love it if like Henrik or someone made an appearance.
