What kind of stats (goals and assists) do you think Backman will have this year? Will he get PP time at all? I don't know much about him, really...

Would you take him over Lydman, Tallinder, and Vlasic?

Woywitka Assigned----Must Clear Waivers

In order for Woywitka to make it to Peoria he has to clear waivers by 11am Wednesday.

It would be nice if he clears, but at this point - he's had his chances to step up and take a job, and just hasn't been able to do it. I don't see where anything is going to change in the next year.

It's disappointing, especially because he was a part of the Pronger trade, but I don't think he was ever considered to be anything more then a minor piece in the Blues rebuild plan. So, in conclusion, meh.

Wow. I saw him in person last year. Looked great....

Hope no team claims him, I want him back!

Maybe the Bruins will strike back and nab Woywitka. Other teams that might come into question would be the Sharks and Bolts. I sure hope that doesn't happen, though.

It must be kind of embarassing to potential NHL players when they do clear.

Was it as embarassing to all the potential NHL players who cleared last year? Oh, wait - I forgot, last year I remember reading that [insert player here] was a lock to be claimed on waivers about 200 times ... and hardly any of them were.

Then again, you'd have to understand that (A) to claim a player, you have to keep him on the NHL roster [because to assign him to the minors, you have to waive him yourself], (B) some teams flat don't have the cap space to claim a guy, and (C) for those that do, it means replacing someone on their then-current 23-man roster with the newly acquired player [and maybe risk losing one of those guys to waivers as well].

So no ..... I don't think anyone finds it that embarassing - because being claimed on waivers is very much the exception rather than the rule, and not because 29 other teams think the player sucks eggs.

Ugly, ugly game against Minny :/ Granted, no P. Kariya, Stempniak, Weight, or Backes, but a pretty big drop off in play after the first period.

Would appreciate some information

Hi Guys,
If anyone has information on Brad Boyes or Hannu, I would really appreciate it. I.E. how they were in training camp and have been this preseason. I haven't been able to watch.

I'll be writing an article about the Brunis GM's trades over the past year and am doing, almost, a 'where are they now' piece. I would appreciate all you are willing to give. PM's welcome.

Thank you much,

I don't care who we dressed, and I know it is "only" pre-season, but seven GA is unacceptable. I am a little nervous.

It was basically the backup AHL squad against Minnesota's regular NHL squad. I wouldn't read anything into it AT ALL. A playoff NHL team is expected to handily take care of a very average AHL team.

Has Rucinsky solidified a top 6 spot with his play in the pre-season or no? I haven't seen any of the Blues games so I wouldn't know.
