Who do you think the Rangers will end up missing the most this season?

(players from last season)

(For me, it comes down to Nylander or Ortmeyer, and I went with Ortmeyer because I think we have players who can provide what Nylander provided (success with Jagr is not the hardest thing to accomplish but Nyls did have a great playoffs), while Ortmeyer's 110% effort, blocked shots, forechecking, and PK work might especially be missed if the Rangers go through a bad streak.

I voted Nylander...he was the only one with considerable talent. I'm sure though, the Ortmeyer fans will all come out of the woodwork.

i dont see how anyone could not miss ortmeyer. we dont need a goal scorer on every position or every line (betts, hollweg, orr). ortmeyer did all the little things that made the rangers a good team and exciting to watch.

I chose Ortmeyer for his PK work. Let's see anyone else throw their body in front of pucks like he did again.

I would say Cullen for the main reason that him in our lineup would make secondary scoring all that more scary.

It was a tough call between him and nothing considering he probably is an option we did not need.

Brad Isbister. Because i feel bad for the guy knowing nobody really misses him even though he was great in hartford for the kids, and did his job here. hes just limited by his natural ability.

I'll miss Jed's hustle and his shot blocking prowess other than that I dont think anyone will be missed.

Edit: Also I think if a serviceable back-up isnt found, or Vally cant hang, I think they could miss Weekes a good deal. As much crap as we give him on these boards, he wasnt nearly as bad as most of us make him out to be,i'm including myself in the "most of us" comment. His main thing is he was overpaid for what he ended up being, but thats no fault of his own, had Lundqvist not be a star then he would still be the Rangers #1.

I'm going to be the lone person to probably say this, but I'm going to go with Kevin Weekes. Two years ago he was awarded the Players' Players award by the team and seemed to be a guy everyone liked. His play wasn't always great but to play 10-15 games a year and sit the bench for that long is tougher than it looks, and now they don't really have a experienced backup to replace him.

Nothing against everyone else though, Jed would be my close 2nd pick but I think the PK will be alright.

Seriously, I picked Jed too. He was amazing on the PK, and always had a knack for blocking the shots at the best times. Hockey's not always about scoring. I'm not sure, but I think I heard somewhere once that defense plays a big role.

i get the jed stuff...but thats more sentimentel then anything else....drury is a great 2 way player who does great stuff on the pk....the team isnt gonna miss jed as much as the fans

Why is Kevin Weekes even an Option?

half-kidding, cause i know he played good in some spots, but that was just my knee-jerk reaction.

Cullen... but if Dubi or Anisimov or whoever takes that spot is really good, I'll change it to Nylander... but I do think Gomer and Drury are gonna have real solid years which negates the loss of Nyls.
