no way...even without the injury.
I guess the question for him was more about if he plays ECHL or AHL than playing in Dallas
But he got injured during the Travers city prospect tournament and is maybe out for the whole preseason with a shoulder-injury
Actually, John has a pretty nice game. He is one of the most confident, almost cocky, players you will ever meet. He only played sporadically in his short stint with us last season, but I think, with increased ice time, his game will really start to shine. I, for one, am looking forward to watching him here in Iowa this season. It is going to be a dogfight for ice time at the forward spot in Iowa.
John Lammers is now our David Bararuk. Scored like crazy in juniors, not so much in the pro hockey.
So far 16 games and 0+2 for Ässät, which is statistically a bit better than David Bararuk. But the comparison sounds pretty good. Bararuk was bad and Lammers is also bad. He has even played is 1st line after Marjamäki was hurt but that ended the scoring streak of our first liners.
Lammers was supposed to replace "overweighted" and "poor-conditioned" Rob Hisey but got to admit that this really was a bad exchange. Hisey was much better.
Comparing to for example BJ Crombeen, Lammers seems to be a much worse.
Lammers is going to be assigned to Iowa or Idaho this weekend.
23 games 4 assists -5 61 shots 24 PIM was his final stars for Ässät.
He finished with a assist in his final two games.
Got to admit that he was better in the last games, but still nothing what to expect from a AHL-status player.
I doubt that he will play in Iowa, Idaho is better choice. He was recalled because Ässät have lost the chances to playoffs and want to give ice time for the juniors.
Got to admit that he was better in the last games, but still nothing what to expect from a AHL-status player.
I agree.
John was a good forechecker, had a lot of effort in his game and he also liked to challenge the defensemen with some stickhandling, but almost never succeeded.
