... just a brutal game toninght -- one of the few stinkers the sharks have played this year. This is actually exactly what I was expecting though... coming home off of a successfuly roadtrip, in front of about 10,000 (though they announced 14,000+ don't believe it)... no life in the building, no life on the bench.
Not to mention that the Sharks appear to be getting into the bad habit of playing down to the level of their competition, and I think they were led even further into that trap by scoring on the first shift. Think about recent games -- they barely beat Columbus 1-0 in Columbus (after which their Coach/GM fired himself as coach and they started playing better)... then the loss in CHI (waived off goals aside)... then the game tonight. Yick.
A point is still a point, but DAL is gaining and is the Sharks main threat now that Palffy is essentially out in LA.
ugly game for sure - sharkies don't look like they are prepaired to
play these guys. Sharks were luckey to get a point out
of the game the way they played. The jackets beet'em to
the puck most of the nite. So much for the 3rd best team on
the PK - we gave up 2 and really looked sloppy on the one
in regulation. In OT, what can you say Prems takes the opportunity
to win it with a shortie, falls down after the play taking him
out of the play creating the odd man the other way. Nash made
a good shot (man is he a hudge player in size) I thought Nabby should
have played the shot better. This is the kind of game where you take the
point, put the game behind you and do better in the next game.
I agree with the popular sentiment about last nights game, we didn't play well. But in playing as bad as they did, I was surprised they got so many premium chances and even more surprised that only the 1st one went in.
The refs sucked for both teams but no doubt SJ got the worse of it. But that's gonna happen from time to time and the sharks seemed to deal with it all right. Sure They complained initially with the bad calls, but they seemed to shake it off and ended up getting a point. That's at least semi-positive.
