Im not a Kaspar fan but now i feel bad

Im not a huge fan of his but i feel pretty bad for him. Hopefully things work out for him somewhere.

From TSN.CA
Darius Kasparaitis is hoping to find a new NHL team.

The New York Rangers placed the veteran defenceman on waivers Monday.

"I was upset, but at the same time, I knew this could happen," Kasparaitis told the New York Daily News.

"I knew that it was probably a long shot to make the Rangers because of the success they had last year without me. And I know my salary is an issue for the team. But at the same time, I felt like maybe it could happen," said Kasparaitis to the newspaper.

Money does appear to be the major factor as the 34-year-old was to be paid almost $3 million this season.

Kasparaitis played in only 24 games for the Rangers in 2006-07, scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists.

"I'm still very anxious and I hope somebody will pick me up. If not, I'll go down to the minors and continue to try to prove that I'm still an NHL player," said Kasparaitis.

Kasparaitis was a first round pick (5th overall) of the New York Islanders in 1992 and has played in 863 NHL games.

I don't ever feel bad for ANYBODY pulling in 3.1 million!

Especially for playing hockey!

Somehow I think he'll survive
