4 goalies with Boucher eventually on the way makes 5.

Makes you wonder where they are going to put the other 4 given that they can only send 1 goalie to Wheeling and which one stays with the Phantoms to share the net with Booosh.

Kimmo was sent to the Phantoms?! JK.

How many spare guys are normally kept up and scratched?

What happened to Rory? Did they cut him a couple weeks ago or what?

Munroe! As for who goes to Wheeling...Duchesne. The other 2 are dead to me.

Looking at the depth chart on HF, there's a number of players they have color coded as playing in their old leagues.

What are Kukkonen's chances of making the team? And does anyone think the Timonen boys will ever actually play together?

Agreed but I think I am okay with that. He should be in the top pairing for the Phantoms and I would rather see him get top minutes down there with a few call ups then only see 10-15 minutes of ice time with the Flyers.

Kukkonen's on the team, I don't know if we'll ever see the brothers play together, but with our history of injuries, anything is possible.

For the record, this thread title is misleading and nearly led to my demise.....Billy, can you add the word "players" after the number 18? I was just getting ready to hop in my car and drive down to Philly to console Richie.

Kukkonen would have to screw up to not make the team. If he plays like he did last seeason, he has a roster spot. Jusi will not play with Kimmo unless there are at least four injuries ahead of him (not including his brother obviously).

I think that's Luce's influence... he's in charge of player development, no? And he's a STRONG supporter of one year in the AHL before the NHL transition... I would expect to see more of this in the future.

Parent also plays the position to the strength of our current defense and doesn't bring the offense that a guy like Picard does... always going to work against him. As of today, Hatcher is the one holding Parent's roster spot.

With the injuries to Lupul, Upshall and Umberger I'd say there is a decent chance that both of those players make the team. I would think Downie definently unless he gets suspended. Dowd, not so sure, I'd think they'd rather have Potulny play.

According to Timmeh, Lupul will be ready for the first game and RJ either then or within a few games.

Just wondering a few things.

Ruzicka's chances of making the top 12 to open the year? I liked what I saw from him at times last year, at others he looked lost and not NHL ready.

Coburn in the top 6? I've always liked his game since I first saw him in ATL and I'm wondering if he's going to get a chance to shine in Philly.

Will Lupul be on a line with Briere and Gagne? I've been thinking about how dangerous that line would be since Danny left and you guys aquired Lupul and I'm wondering if we'll ever get a glimpse of it. Perhaps even as a PP unit.

As for this season I wish you guys luck. I've never been into the whole Philly/Buffalo rivalry probably because it was before my time. And now with Briere and Biron in Philly it really makes it tough to cheer against you guys.

His chances have gone way up after upshall and umberger's injuries. He's also played very well in camp and well in the preseason games he's been in.

It's a lock. He's already top 4 on our team and this is going to be a breakout season for him,

It's possible, but Knuble has the first shot at the position as it stands. A PP unit like that is a definite possibility.
