pothier's looked good this game. i'm optimistic he can be the player we'd hoped he'd be with a little lighter load this year.

Whoever thinks Pothier has played poorly this season is just used to his poor play from last season and isn't actually watching him currently.

Get that man a regular-season sweater.

Hard not to notice Mike Green's confidence on the power play, as well.

Green continues to be impressive on the offensive side of things.

Anybody able to tell what happened to Semin? I thought I saw Smith hit him with his right hand, but it didn't look to bad?

Unfortunately, since it's the jumbotron feed and the Caps have no balls when it comes to defying the league mandate on this thing, we have no chance of seeing the replay on a controversial play. Every other team replays this stuff. The Caps show league montages.

This stupid music is drowning out the announcers.

God I hope Semin is ok.

He's sitting backwards on the bench getting looked at. Hasn't gone to the locker room, that might be good news.

(since it's semin, there's a chance nothing happened, but he wanted to make sure the ref realized he got suckered)

They showed a replay of the play in question, which is where I saw the Smith/Semin thing, but it was at the far-right edge of the picture. Didn't see any close-ups.

God damnit. We are dominating, but the Flyers have scored on every opportunity they've gotten.

You know what I mean, though. When a player is struggling on the ice for a couple of minutes, most buildings re-air the play ad nauseum, as many of the angles as they can find, while play is dead... for the obvious reason that this is all everyone in the building wants to see. The Caps seem petrified about showing such controversial plays, whether it's the play where a player appears to get injured, or even much of the time penalty calls. It's been irksome for some time.

Case in point... Semin is struggling for a stretch and the Caps immediately begin airing, incongruously, an NHL goals montage.
