I guess what I'm really saying is that even in preseason you need to play a good deal of what you ultimately think will be your opening night lineup - especially the last game. Straka not playing with Gomez and Jagr much didn't make much sense to me, among other things. We saw Betts pay with Prucha in the regular season over the course of two seasons - seeing something different in preseason should be over-rided by the regular season - so the point is, shouldn't something else be tried?
Ah, it's over. I don't think Renney did a great job running previous preseasons either, which just shows the meaninglessness of preseason and how dependent these guys will be on Jagr/Lundqvist, et al, anyways since the last couple seasons turned out good in any event.
