Washington closes out its preseason schedule, hosting the Ottawa Senators. Per Mike Vogel, the Caps lineup "will be fairly similar to that which took the ice against Philadelphia on Friday." Final roster moves to get to the 23-man limit have to be made by 3p.m. on Tuesday. Three more cuts need to be made and those involving a player that needs to pass through waivers have to be made by Noon tomorrow. Players that may or may not be cut include Jakub Klepis, Jeff Schultz, Dave Steckel, Matt Bradley, Ben Clymer and Brooks Laich. A small trade involving a depth player is another possibility.

Vogel also reports that defenseman Jame Pollock is believed to have been waived on Saturday, explaining why there's been no report on where he's headed or whether or not he was claimed yesterday. That decision won't come down until tomorrow afternoon. Winger Joe Motzko and defenseman Josef Boumedienne are already in Hershey, after having passed through waivers.

Alexander Semin won't play today due to a reported ankle injury suffered against Philadelphia on Friday.

Ottawa defeated Montreal 5-4 in OT last night at home. They enter today's game 6-0 in the preseason but might not ice their full lineup considering last night's game and their subsequent travel. Ray Emery will not start the season as Ottawa's starting netminder, as was thought to be the case as little as a week ago. As a result, Ottawa recalled goaltender Brian Elliott from Binghamton yesterday and will start in net today.

Ottawa:

(A guess per the posted NHL.com & Yahoo! lineups.)

Foligno - Vermette - Donovan
Hamel - Kelly - Eaves
Donati - Nikulin - Schubert
McGratton - Zubov - Bois

Redden - Corvo
Nycholat - Lee
Amadio - Richardson

Elliott

Washington:

Ovechkin - Kozlov - Fleischmann
Backstrom - Nylander - Clark
Pettinger - Steckel - Gordon
Brashear - Laich - Bradley

Poti - Green
Morrisonn - Jurcina
Schultz - Pothier

Kolzig?

The guys on the Ottawa board said they are starting there rookies and call-ups from AHL.

What about Pettinger on the 2nd line with Nylander and Backstrom, and Steckel on the 3rd line with Gordon and Clark.

Awesome deflection by Kozlov!

1-0 Caps.

AO with the pass. Poti will get another assist.

Luckily, the t-shirt toss is unencumbered by any flashing warnings.
