That's in part why I said "probably". I think Leafs fans are ok with Toskala, but ask Sens fans about Gerber and they'll tell you he is not what they are looking for in net. He had a great start of the season for sure, but he is a mediocre goaltender with no real potential to get better. I also factored in his salary: Gerber is not bringing to the team 4M$ (or close to it) worth in goal. Toskala on the other hand makes a decent salary, but if "you" (I'm not talking to you, cause you make sense) blame Labs for being inconsistent, you must be consistent yourself and also consider Toskala's inconsistency.

Basically, my "problably" meant that I personally prefer Labs to these two, but that it can certainly be argued otherwise. Same thing with Kolzig, I like him a lot, but this year he has done less for his team then Labs (a 5.5M$ goalie with a .884s% after 41 games... I'd really like to see what some Kings fans would have to say about that... probably some crap like "don't just look at the numbers, our goalie proved in the past that he was better than Labarbera"... ).

This thread was made a little pre mature when Labs was going through a rough stretch.

Labarbera has done a hell of a job with how the defense has played this season. Leave the poor guy alone.

This thread was made after ONE game in the season. A little pre-mature?

worthless post for a worthless thread.

"cheese" could also be interpreted as facetiously saying, "more cheese please" as the OP's posts are cheese = obvious trolling.

What exactly is this "trolling" everyone speaks of? Is it just when someone expresses a different opinion, and than opens the subject up for debate?

From Wikipedia:

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response.

Trolling is what an Internet troll does.

While this definition may be correct, and we certainly all know wikipedia is the most reliable source, it can be argued that we do not know the OP's original intentions.

I'm in no way commenting on what someone's intent was or was not in a post. I'm merely responding to the question, "What is this trolling everyone speaks of?". This is what "trolling" is. If you'd prefer a better source, then do your own query. But irrespective of Wikipedia's reliability, this is the definition of an Internet troll.

it was not specifically geared to you, it was more intended to be an open question for the troll accusers out there.

why does it matter who you learn the definition of "troll" from?

huh?

my point is that you cannot throw around the label "troll" all over the place, simply because you, as a non-telepathic person, cannot know the OP's intention.

The game against Detroit today says all that you need to know about Barbie, which the title of this thread puts into words.

Those were terrible goals, yes. But let's get real here, he's not a bad goaltender. He doesn't give up those types often and we know he can play better. He's proven it.

Now with all that said, he still shouldn't be ANYONE's #1 goalie.
