Thanks for that mental image of Cammalleri and Calder having sex....

You've scarred me for life.

Disturbing, But no! They are my two favorite players on the Kings, and not particularly in that order. Just made for a good name, I thought.

I just hope that the kings dont do something foolish like trading a brown or frolov or cammy or any younger guys for someone elses washed up goalie. we've signed/acquired enough of those (Cloutier, Cechmanek, Aubin) time to just simply suck till Bernier is comfortable. (or until management is comfortable playing him.)

Should have kept Garon instead of Aubin and Cloutier. Or even Huet. Labarbera could've backed Garon or Huet till bernier arrived. Aubin is alright not bad but nothing special.

This is a great thread and should be stickied. I want to see what you Labarbera supporters are saying at the end of the year and it will be fun to look back on this thread and reflect.

Beauty...why don't you set a statistical baseline for what JLB has to maintain in order for you to be right/wrong?

Being that you said something to the effect of, "JLB has no business in the NHL," I'll throw out something like:

> x wins (or Win x% of his starts)
< x.xx GAA
> .xxx Save Percentage

If Jason fails to meet two of the three stats, you eat some crow. If he doesn't, feel free to fling some poo.

While I'm at it....let me ask this - Would you rather be right and see the Kings fail? Or be wrong, but see the Kings succeed?

Why do all of that when it's clearly evident that he just plain sucks? If he has a great record at the end of the year then I'll admit that maybe he's not terrible and only mediocre instead.

And to answer your other question, I would rather be wrong but I'm pretty confident I won't be on this one.

So, basically, you can't be just plain wrong. That's sweet.

Right now:

GAA:
Jason LaBarbera 2.58
Cam Ward 2.61
Olaf Kolzig 2.68
Roberto Luongo 2.73
Marty Turco 2.76
Ryan Miller 2.77
Martin Brodeur 2.77

S%:
Jason LaBarbera .911
Olaf Kolzig .910
Evgeni Nabokov .909
Ilya Bryzgalov .909
Roberto Luongo .907
Rick DiPietro .904
Marty Turco .904
Jean-Sebastien Giguere .903
Tomas Vokoun .903

(the other goalies are the ones following Labarbera in those categories, nothing against them in particular, and not trying to say Labs is better than them in any way, just stats)

Labarbera has a nice ability to play amazingly well for short periods of time. Lets see if he can keep going for more then a hand full of games.

I still think we need a legit NHL goalie...

Number one goalies are those who can steal two points for your team. LaBarbera is not a goalie who can steal two points for a team. At least not in the NHL.

I don't understand why would this kind of posts not be deserving of a warning. If I said approximately the same thing about Beauty, I'd get points and I'd get lock out of this thread. So what's the reasoning? Who deserves the most these ****loads of insults?

Anyway, it would be a little short-sighted to blame the lost tonight solely on Labs. He gave a bad goal for sure, other than that he was pretty good.

As long as it remains true I will keep saying it!
This game was an uphill battle thanks solely to Mr. Flapjack.
He still continues to overreact to every good opportunity that the opposition has and then finds himself on the ice leaving a WIDE OPEN net for the shooters to shoot at!

This is exactly what I said to my father as we were waliking to the game tonight and I heard that Mr. Flapjack was in net tonight.

Labarbera wasn't bad tonight. He really needs to work on his puck control though. Shootout was pretty brutal, but we'll get used to that pretty quick.

He did make some decent saves tonight, that a Cloutier for example would have missed.

AND WE DID GET A POINT

I find it encouraging that our goaltender didn't play well, but was still able to stop 30 of 33 shots. This is a good sign.

If Labarbera can be an average goalie for the season, I'll be happy. Its sub par defense I cant stand...

LaBarbera isn't bad! This thread can pretty much be closed.

He's making the saves he has to make, you can't expect a goalie to get a shutout every game. And I'm know as an optimist on this board.
