Sundin swings his stick at the puck and the blade breaks off and hits the glass pops up and hits Colin Campbell in the head. Ref gives Sundin Game Misconduct citing Rule 41 and Rule 88 after conferring on the phone with ??. Quinn smirks at ref and gets 2 minute unsportsmanlike. Campbell suspends Sundin 5 games for stick throwing.
Oh yeah Leafs hold on for the 3-1 win as Stevens leaves his feet to deliver a punishing blow to Tucks head in last minute of play. Ref didn't see it. Campbell was on the toilet when it happened claims play not reviewable and anyway unknown space interference erases the 5 seconds of video.
So now they call up Wilm to serve as a body for five minutes on the fourth line. Leeb, Wellwood, Wilm - everyone except the one guy who has showed that, on skill, he belongs in the NHL. Yes, Druken, who I do not confuse with an all-star, but he is more experienced and has shown more than the other rock call-ups.
Maybe we should invest in some good deoderant for Druken
As for a prediction, I have no bloody idea. Stevens is out - that's great but who will stop Neidermeyer and Rafalski from weaving through the neutral zone. With any luck, Brodeur, who played and lost last night, will get the night off though Schwab is no slob.
So, my heart hopes for a 2-1 win. My head would settle for one point. Gladly.
I think the Leafs will lose comfortably against a strong team like NJ..
Even Belfour will not make a difference...
leafs Line-up with the injuries is not good enough to beat TOP teams just the middle of the road ones...
Not being pessimistic just realistic..
Can't argue with any of the points you raised. All we can do is hope for the best until the cavalry arrives in a few weeks. I define "the best" as getting through this mess (why o why do we play the Flyers home and home with a depleted lineup??) as a point a game average.
