Just what is it with these Devils? Look at their roster. The Devils of today are far inferior to the teams that beat us in 2000 and 2001. They have lost a ton of scoring ability up front and have gotten much smaller, but they can still play with the same kind of efficiency. I wonder if a healthy Leafs team should just try to pound them into the ground instead of being lulled into defeat. That Martin Brodeur needs to be harassed way more. That guy barely has to break a sweat behind that defense.

They are smaller, but they are faster creating problems on the forecheck. It also works better creating great scoring oppourtunities on turnovers. Unfortunately, scoring is another story... . The Leafs could try to pound NJ, but they still have the big guys, and guys like Langenbrunner, Friesen, and even Gionta don't back down.

In years past when the Devils had Arnott and Holik and company upfront, it just felt like a much more difficult task to play with NJ. But now it seems they have their speedy guys like Gionta, Gomez, Elias etc. and then they have their big guys like Marshall, Stevens and White and Stevenson. I was just thinking that if the Leafs threw their weight around they might be able to disrupt that strong forechecking game. If the Devils don't have that going, I would feel a lot better about playing them, because their game plan is their real strong point.

Hitting them constantly, in say a playoff series could help to a point. Most of the guys have been through the wars already in the playoffs, so I would think they know how to deal with it. IMO, scoring 1st is NJ's enemy.
That game tonight can be summed up in one word:BORING!!!!!!!!! The New Jersey Devils have got to be the most boring team in the NHL! If they get the first goal their opponents are ***** out of luck, because then they play defensively the rest of the night. Yikes what a yawner! Plus no lone penalties were called against these ******.They got away with soooooo much! You can't say that this loss is a disgrace like the one on Thursday though. Not at all. We got some scoring chances but couldn't seem to score tonight. Well better luck against the Flames on Tuesday. Hopefully that game will be more interesting. Actually it probably will be. Well bye for now guys.
Well considering the game started at 4:30 and went into double overtime what did you want me to do.Watch a game full of excitement until 8:30 or watch the new jersey borils play the trap and bore me to sleep, come on man use ur head

I really don't know why Quinn consistently puts Jackman & Marchment together. It seems like it's almost a sure thing that someone is going to score when they are on the ice.
I'm all for giving Hedin a chance to play. He cannot be anymore worse then Jackman & Marchment.
