Really sucks for those of us who are Yankee fans.

Im probably going to just want the yankees game on replay or something.

i am a die hard yankee fan and i know that it is the playoffs.... but hockey is back. no questions asked the yankees will have to take a back seat to the rangers on oct 4.

Crap. Well, hopefully they work the bugs out of the out-of-town scoreboard at MSG so that I don't have to constantly check my cell phone to see the score.

Omg well too bad. Not that I would watch the game anyway since I have to watch both Smallville and Supernatural which are both really really gay shows but I still watch them.

Its simple, if you want to watch something exciting you will tune into the Rangers game. If you want to have a boring, slow night then you will turn on the baseball game.

Ill leave this thread here before i merge it later on in the week since I guess it kinda has to do with the Rangers.

Motherfreaker... I just realized that...

It's always a good time flipping between 2 big games at once.

oh god, it's awful. I think I might watch the Yankee game though, and just flip to the Rangers during the commercials. I know it's opening day, but post-season games come first. :/

Im pretty sure postseason games are at 8 if we are playing the night game

I'm sorry, but there's no way you are a "die hard Yankee fan" if anything but a life and death situation (and your job where you have to work that night I guess) gets in the way of you watching the Yankees in the playoffs.

i am a die hard yankee fan but i am 100 times the ranger fan that i am a yankee fan. hockey is my favorite sport not baseball. its a no brainer for me. everybody that knows me personally knows how much of a yankee fan i am and they also know that i will be at the garden not in front of my tv watching the playoffs. i can always watch the yankees when i get home that night.

No probs for me because I'm not a baseball fan anymore. Watching a Devils/Wild game is much more exciting

This is really a non-issue. The NYR game starts at 7 and will be over at 9:15. The Yankee Game presumably will start at 8 and go all night. Easy to cover both.

I'll be switching on and off. Followed almost every Yankees game this year, so I'm not about to stop now

Funniest post in this whole thread.

Everyone is getting their panty's in a wad about being a "Die hard" fan of whomever, I'm surprised to not have yet to see anyone say I'm a mediocre fan of...

it's all a matter of priorty. i'm a die hard mets and rangers fan. if the mets are playing a playoff game the same day as opening night, i'll be back and forth to the rangers during commercials. it's that simple. we're talking about a playoff game, or the first game of an 82 game schedule that will be going on seven months from now. that would've been like me actually WATCHING the mets open up against the cardinals this year when the rangers were playing the leafs in a huge game at the garden. for those who are just hockey fans it's easy to hate. but think of how many people in this country would laugh at you if you even made the notion of hockey being better than baseball. it's all subjective.

huge yankees fan here, and what brutal timing this is because I have tickets to the opener. Was assuming they would go tue-wed -off day thursday like usual but this whole TBS broadcasting the playoffs is screwing the playoff schedule up. I've got a decision to make I guess
