Jesus ****ing Christ. 1st, 2nd, Carter, Richards, and Nittymaki for Bulin, whatever it costs to get him.

I'd risk that chance for a consistant goalie and a cup this season.

And the Lightning, a playoff team in a battle for their division title, would trade their goaltender for what reason?

Bulin has a £6.5m team option next year, the guys on HNIC dont think TB will be able to take it so they think he will be moved by the deadline. He wont cost as much as that though.

HNIC opinions mean little but I agree and if he's dealt and it isn't to the Flyers Clarke will have some suplainin' to do.

we'll have no team in 2-3 years even without a drastic move, so what's your point?

we won't evan have a rebuilding team if we trade carter, Richards and Nittymaki, we'll be like the Penguins, full of AHL'ers, or worse, an old underachieving team like the rangers

7 goals in the last 5 games, and none tonight at all. It's gonna take one hell of a goalie to win games with that kind of offensive production.
I'm pretty sure we just lost back to back games (at home!) against 2 of the worst teams in the NHL. It's not looking to good right now, is it!?!

The Flyers have a pretty decent core of prospects. There isn't a lot of prospect depth, but with the youngsters already on the team I wouldn't worry about the Flyers not being a playoff team in a few years.

lets say, everyone on the team over 32 is gone in 2-3 years, baring trades, here's what he have
Gagne Comrie Williams
-- Carter --
-- Richards Somik
Fedoruk Sharp --

Pitkanen Johnsson
Vandermeer Seidenberg

Esche
Nittymaki

other guys who might make the team Roggari, Korovkin, Jones, Drozdetsky, Ruzika

this can probably be a playoff team, but who knows, the CBA will have the same effect with the other teams so I guess we can only wait and see

right now the team looks like they are just going through the motions. like hey were the Flyers, were at home and teams like the Oilers are supposed to just roll over and play dead for us,I have never gotten that. its not just this team, its teams we have had in the past. no effort and they feel like they can turn it on when ever they want to or feel like it. i hope Hitch runs em into the ice at next practice.

You forgot Handzus, he's the same age as Somik.

Regardless, Brodeur wouldn't have even helped them tonight. Esche didn't let up any stinkers, the team didn't score, or even play very good defence.

you're right, completly forgot him, and I forgot Kapanen too
But Handzus is really underachieving this year, he's big, but not fast or strong, so they cancel out, and he's not scoring or winning faceoffs

To his credit, Salo is very good when he's on. And he was on tonight.

I figured you meant that the players who would be at least 32 in 2-3 years would be gone so I left Kapanen (31 this June) off the list.

Handzus is big and slow indeed, but he's still on pace to match his point total from last season (less goals, more helpers).

Somebody is going to get moved. The most logical player would be Handzus.

as far as the goaltending situation is concerned, I wanted Clarke to put all his chips in at the draft to get Fluery but people said "no way, he won't play for 3 or 4 years. you can't trade up to take him". look at Fluery now, already playing in the NHL and playing very well for a horrible team.

anyway, the Flyers do this crap every year. first they are world betters and going to the Cup and then they can't beat a junior B team. hot streaks, cold streaks, that's the way it is every season.

Looks like you'll get your wish as Hitchcock sounded pretty angry in his comments, the most interesting of which concerned benchings: "The problem is that the people we sit out would be a shock to the whole community. In games like this you get a really good evaluation of the commitment that you're looking for."

He didn't name any names (although Roenick apparently felt he was being singled out: "I've been threatened before").

Speculation?
