He's not quite there yet. Bill Durnan went 309 minutes and 29 seconds without giving up a goal in the 1948-49 season. Boucher is at 265 minutes right now, so he still has to go another 45 minutes without giving up a goal to break the record. That would be over 5 straight games without giving up a goal, which is completely insane, even in todays low scoring NHL.

The all-time record is 461 minutes, 29 seconds by Alex Connell in 1927-28. Thats 7 games, 2 periods, and a bit without letting in a goal.

Of course, back then, the opposition consisted of 50 year old men, with no curves on their sticks, skating like snails and smoking lilke madmen on the benches.

Boucher seems to light it up from time to time. But come playoff time, he folds. Don't know why, but perhaps he can change the pattern one day.

Didn't Trevor Kidd have something like 3 shutouts in a row when he was in Carolina? Yet for the rest of his career, he's been an inconsistent backup with a bad haircut.

Hopefully for Boucher and Phoenix fans, he can stay more consistent than Kidd ever was and reach the potential that was touted when he first entered the NHL.

If at the beginning of the year if you were told a goalie this season is going to record 4 (maybe more) straight shutouts, how many names would you guess before uttering Brian Boucher. Anybody who says under 15 (heck under 20) is lying.

Congrats to Mr. Boucher

Five shutouts in a row now. Blanked the Wild 2-0 tonight. Geez, this guy was available on waivers after training camp.

Sure I would have name about 25 goalies before him. I'm starting to wonder if he will ever give a goal again.

congratulation to Brian Boucher who was the 3rd goalie at some point and fought back to beat a record that Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, Ed Belfour never beat

I know it might not be the right thread to say this but now i'm just laughing because i'm listening to the radio, and all I hear from Montréeal is that Boucher is an average goalie, and that next week he'll allow 5 goals ina game and blah blah blah ... once again it proves that there are 2 classes of goalies, the outstandings clutch goalies in which few goalies get in: Roy and Brodeur in the last 15 years ... and the other category of very efficient goalies that is way much wider: that goes from Belfour to Lalime to Théodore to Boucher to Khabibulin to Burke and so on ... and that if you have a very efficient goalie or a couple of them, you better keep one and add some offense that will score goals on a regular basis

Something the Flyers didn't do (score goals on a regualr basis) in playoffs over the last ... 5 years ... it's also what the Red Wings didn't do against the Ducks, and what the Senators didn't do against the Devils or the Canucks against teh Wild ... so stop blaming or hyping good goalies ... blaming: Joseph, Checkmaneck, Lalime, Cloutier because their teams didn't score goals when they had to in clutch moments ... and stoping claiming that Théodore, Turco and others are gods because they bring their team in playoffs once every two years, and win one series and start looking at improving the offense

There are other goalies I would have expected to do this before Boucher. Congratulations to him!

1ST PERIOD Atlanta Power-Play Goal - Ronald Petrovicky (15), from Vyacheslav Kozlov and Ilya Kovalchuk at 6:16.

Brian Boucher's shutout streak ended at 332:01 minutes.

I'm always surprised when a record such as this is over the player almost always states he is happy it is over. Why???

Too bad Boucher didn't do this playing for the habs. Every game he would ever play again where he allowed a goal the fans would be all over him. 'You Suck Shutoutboy' would rain down on him from the cheap seats. The media types would be slamming management for not trading him during the streak, etc.
