i think you are right about the sabres, whichever team it was we weren't the first team.. and that makes certain ranger fans in this thread look silly (no surprise) by calling the isles copy cats for it.

ofcourse its heated.. the ranger fans will find any reason to jump on islanders, especially after a lose. Rangers fans dont know how to keep compsure, they let their emotions ride

agreed.

the team should collectively moon their fans at center ice after a win.

I think a few teams do it now because they realize how cool it is.

It is absolutely common, win or lose, for a college hockey team to do it, I'm actually glad the professionals have finally caught on.

I have no problem with it.

it is cool and its our signature and thats why they should have stayed away from it.

Don't see what the big deal is. Seamed like a nice guesture to the fans, and in no way did it trash the Rangers. As soemone said earlier, there is an entire list of things to make fun of the Isles about, dont see hwo this is one of them.

Anyway i think that the fishsticks took the idea from us, but who cares the rangers were the first ones to do it i think.

who cares... a good idea tp get fans involved and a fun time should not be copyrighted
Sweet Caroline is Jagr's favorite song. That's why the Rangers started playing it. He likes Neil Diamond. Go figure.

No one here watches the Red Sox unless they are beating the Yankees.

I think the Rangers should salute the crowd in Nassau when they beat the Islanders. Afterall, there are usually more Ranger fans in attendance then Islander fans.

I think all teams should salute the fans after making us suffer through a lockout. It was a nice idea when they put the thank you written on the ice. Next we need them to lower ticket prices so I can afford to go to a game.

No problem with the Isles doing the salute. Of course they are copying it. It's obvious they wish they were the Rangers

But as it was said, more teams should do it. Just as long as they remember that in the NHL, the Rangers were the first.

Of for God's sake, there's plenty of stuff to hate the Isles for but give them a break for this. If we had some really original thing every time we won and then they copied it, it'd be one thing, but for this? Come on now...who cares?

As if saluting the fans is something that's so original. Come on guys, get off your collective high horses for a second and realize that this is the most trivial argument ever.

This again? People, this had been done in both Europe and College hockey for years and years and years. Claiming 'origionality' because the rangers where the first NHL team to do it is just about the lamest thing i've ever heard. Get over it, it's public domain at this point.
