Brent Johnson placed on waivers

KTRS Radio in St. Louis is reporting that Brent Johnson has been waived by the St. Louis Blues. Will be interesting to see if he clears waivers or if a team like Chicago picks him up.

Not surprised.

He hasn't played very well and a lot of that has to do with the fact that Quenneville is horrible at handling goaltenders.

He's still got a ton of potential and I still think he's going to be a good starter in this league. He just needs a change of scenery.

Thank God!!!!

Johnson has no heart, no desire, a poor work ethic, and the players lost all confidence in him. When he refused to go to Worcester on a conditioning stint that was all the Blues needed to realize that he isnt a team player.

a great day for the Blues!!!

The owners signed the same CBA that the players did. Johnson had every right to go through waivers so every team would have a chance to take him.

Any takers? At $700,000 I believe, that ain't bad for a back-up goalie...

yeah, that's what NHLPA says. Though he will make around 600k this year if someone picks him up. The Blues have already paid him the rest.

If nobody takes him, which is probably the case, he is headed to worcestor. And we will be paying him that in the minors.

I heard he's a bit of a partier too. I guess he forgot he needs a bit of a work ethic to stay in the bigs.....

Of course he has the "right". Players also have the right to ignore what their coaches say, and not backcheck or work hard etc.

Still makes him not a team player.

I thought Johnson was on a two way deal where he would make far less in the minors?
