Brodeur, Turco, Theodore, Nabokov and Luongo. No one is a real standout, all could be seen as the best right now. The Vezina race is a close one this year..

Why? I agree with the other guys.. but Turco.. no. He may have a top ammount of wins but that has alot to do with the team in front of him.. his save percentage is .910... thats not vezina worthy. His GAA is down.. but that has alot to do with the defence in front of him..

I don't know how you can have a list of the top goalies "right now" and not include Miikka Kiprusoff. I understand that most people don't watch the Flames and feel he is fluking out but he is for real. He is clearly the best goalie in the NHL this year. Now I know this does not put him in the same class as Brodeur, Belfour (all-time) etc... but it does put him in the top 5 for right now.

1. Brodeur
2. Luongo
3. Kiprusoff
4. Belfour
5. Theodore

Yes. I feel that Kiprusoff is a better goalie than Marty Turco. Flame me all you want but Miikka is not just playing good, he's playing absolutely phenomenal !! Some will say he hasn't proven anything, but he's proven enough to me.

What about the Kiprusoff that has played 25 games? (Just as many as Roloson)....he's been pretty solid.

You have got to be kidding me. The Stars have stunk most of the season and Turco is the one reason they are even in the playoff race. Hell, right now if they lose even 1, it's possible they could be out of it.

Thanks Mr. Bean...At least some see with their eyes... How in the hell can a guy put up the numbers he did lasy year and lead the league in wins, so far this year, and not be picked above sub .500 goalies such as Luongo..How in the hell can a sub .500 record even be ranked anywhere.. High save percentage??? Cause he faces fourty friggen shots a game, nite after nite.. Let him put up some wins before we crown him the greatest.. Hell if he is so good, why did the Ilanders let him go... He is on a Jiggy role, the same as Jiggy did last year.. Wait and see if he can do it at least two years in a roll..

we've done this so many times already

but here are my picks yet again:

1) Luongo
2) Brodeur
3) Theodore
4) Nabokov
5) Raycroff

Brodeur is the only one with a save % of under .920, but he leads the NHL in wins and S/O

Theodore and Nabokov are the only reasons that their teams are doing so well this year IMO.

Raycroff is ROY for certain

Luongo is a god!

hmm the top 5 best goalies right now(as in ones playing well NOW)

Legace,Turco,Giguere,Nabakov and Theodore.

Yes I know I left off Brodeur because quite frankly he ISN'T playing like a top 5 goalie right now(his stats don't look like it anyways). a GAA now near 2.70 since the stevens injury so he doesn't make my top 5 right now until he plays better.

Funny when he is doing well its because his equiptment is too big, but when he fails its because his gear is smaller.(which it isn't)

Theodore is so overrated . The only goalie he beat in the playoffs in his life is Byron Dafoe ( and he is awful, a backup now to a backup) ..

Any list that Raycroft makes, Kiprusoff deserves to make.

Giguere has 3 solid seasons before this one and a Conn Smythe but he gets a bad start this year and everyone has forgot about him?

Giguere has carried the Ducks the past couple of weeks and they almost look like they're clawing their way back into the playoff race. How anyone could think that Kiprusoff is better because of one half of one season amazes me.

The Stars certainly lit up Kipper tonight. Maybe they didn't want him taking Turco's record.
