Will Alfredsson be the first swede to score over 50 goals this season?

Hakan Loob is the only swede who scored 50, but not over it.

If alfie is healthy I think he can do it.

Naslund hit 48 in 02-03. Oh the memories

Back on topic. Yes, Alfie will get 50 if he stays on the top line.

no, he had 34 in 72 games when he broke his leg.

He should have had 50 in 02/03. So close.

Bertuzzi too.

Heatley scores on that line. Alfredsson is the worker. He won't get 50.

Maybe...I think it depends if he stays with spezza and heatley the whole season. I thought Paddock wanted to break the big line up though. Even if the line does stay together, I say he gets 45ish.

I think he'll score between 51 and 56, he looks like a man on a mission, and playing with Heatley and Spezza doesn't hurt.

I'd say something like 40ish, doubt he gets to 50 but good luck to him all the same.

Correction my friend. Naslund had 41 goals at the time he broke his leg..he was bound for 50 goals with only 10 games left in the season but broke his leg in Buffalo as I recall in the 2000-2001 season.

Next year he scored 40 goals..and in 2002-2003 he missed it by 2 goals. On the last day of the season they were shut out by the Los Angeles Kings...and to make it worse, he lost the scoring title to Forsberg and the Goal scoring title to Hejduk.

That's what I was thinking. 2 50 goal scorers on the same line? Even harder with guy like Spezza on the line, who can steal some goals in his own right. I hope he does, but I just don't see it happening.

Alfredsson - Spezza - Heatley is probably the best line in the entire league, so if any line has a shot at having two 50 goal scorers, it's that one.

I think I have to say yes. That way, if- when he does, I will be able to say "I knew it!"

I don't think so.

He'll likely be the first one to leave the top line in order to catalyze offence on another, so it's doubtful that he'll be able to maintain that kind of pace.

Two years ago Alfie had 43 and Heatley had 50. Its not that unlikely.

Spezza and Heatley have both gotten better.
